MAKING NORTH FLORIDA THE JUNIOR GOLF CAPITAL OF THE WORLD

Man it was a cold one at the "Plantation Bay Open", but playing the Prestwick Course made it all worth it with Serene Scenery and wildlife galore

Can't tell you how many Deer and Turkey stories I heard throughout the day. I personally saw a few my self, plus other creatures out in the cold. Many thanks to all the parents and grandparents who braved the cold to watch all our champion players play. Many, many thank you's to the Professional Staff at Prestwick for opening the course for us to play. We enjoyed it immensely regardless of the weather.

The Prestwick Golf Course at Plantation Bay offered our junior players an outstanding championship test with immaculate playing conditions. .Prestwick for sure is an outstanding championship layout with impressive playing conditions. The course was a shot makers dream, if you mastered the layout! The course puts a premium on hitting your target and it challenged all our participants this week. The course is not long, just shy of 6500, but it has a course rating of 71.7. To give you a good comparison, the Stadium Course at Sawgrass from that distance is roughly 72.0.

Kaleb Palm from Orlando just rejoined the NFJG TOUR this past Friday after hearing we were about to play the Prestwick Course. Palm said the course was one of his favorites. Palm would start his day with a great attitude and would make birdie at the first and the at third hole. He would go on to become the Overall Winner with the low round of the day at 74. Mike Charrie shares the tournament story below.

There's a good deal of Holiday events going on, so make sure you scroll all the way down. I hope you take advantage.

See you on the Links!
