Plante Moran Initiative Generates Over $200,000 for NABA

Greenbelt, MD, October 20, 2020 – Plante Moran, long-time corporate partner, initiated a first-ever firmwide fundraiser and generous investment to support the work and mission of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA). The firmwide initiative launched August 17th and ran until September 30th, raising over $100,000 firmwide. Additionally, Plante Moran has committed to matching the funds raised through their firm up to $100,000. This investment will provide scholarships and educational resources to empower the next generation of NABA student and professional members as leaders in the accounting, finance and business-related fields.
“We are proud of our partnership with Plante Moran and are humbled by the work of their generous staff and leadership,” said Walter J. Smith, President and CEO of NABA. “Their commitment to the future of the accounting profession and to creating opportunities for Black students and professionals is powerful.”
“This work is more important now than ever,” said Herschel Frierson, NABA Chairman. “In these uncertain times, it is critical to support the next generation of Black accounting professionals at the onset of their careers.”
