August is Make-a-Will Month!

August is National Make-a-Will Month and you can plant the seeds of your legacy for generations to come through planned giving. While wildflowers and wills may seem to have little in common, they have more similarities than one might think. A planned gift is like a seed that grows to produce a future full of beautiful flowers. Read on to learn more about planned giving and how to create your will.

Help us protect roadside wildflowers!

As summer transitions to fall, Florida's roadsides begin to light up with stunning and colorful stands of naturally occurring wildflowers. From the vibrant purples of Blazing stars (Liatris spp.), Vanillaleaf (Trilisa odoratissima) and Florida paintbrush (Carphephorus corymbosus), to the bright yellows of Goldenrods (Solidago spp.), Sunflowers (Helianthus spp.) and Tickseeds (Coreopsis spp.), these native wildflowers provide resources and pathways for pollinators.

On Saturday, October 19 at 9am, we are partnering with The Nature Conservancy and the Florida Native Plant Society to explore the Creek Bluffs Loop Trail at Tiger Creek Preserve, a 2.6-mile loop that follows bluffs along Tiger Creek and traverses high quality longleaf pine turkey oak sandhill habitat.
