Planning Commission February 18 Meeting Cancellation
Dear Plat Applicants,
The February 18 Planning Commission meeting is CANCELED due to the state of emergency declared by Governor Greg Abbott. The extreme weather conditions have resulted in widespread loss of electricity and internet connectivity, causing delays in reviewing applications and preparing for the Planning Commission meeting, in addition to ongoing concerns about connectivity for staff, applicants, the public, and Commissioners during the meeting. We have experienced similar meeting cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic or other natural disasters. The Planning and Development Department thereafter adopted the "Imelda Rule" about how to handle pending applications in such a situation. See the following actions taken for the February 18 agenda:
Item I and II: Deferred until next meeting of March 4th.
Items III a, b, c, d, e, f (except items that have been deferred twice): Deferred until March 4th. Items that have been deferred twice will be deemed approved or disapproved, based on the CPC 101 conditions.
Items III g, h and i: Deemed Approved.
Item IV Establishing New Public Hearings: Not established for the projected date of March 18, but will likely be established at the March 4 meeting for April 1.
The Planning Department appreciates your understanding, and we look forward to continuing to work with you on your project. If you have questions, please call us at 832-393-6624. Stay tuned for updates by visiting the Planning Department’s website and social media pages.
