Philippians 2:12-13 (KJV)
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
“WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING!!!!!!!!!”
I began today asking for SPECIAL PRAYER for one little WILSON LONG-the first born son of Jillian and Cameron Long. This young man is in Children's Hospital fighting a nasty virus-PLEASE keep this young man and his family in PRAYER today.
While many people are enjoying a relaxing day today and/or a productive day today, others are simply not.
THEY are struggling mightily, simply trying to get THROUGH today.
It is so easy and WE often fail to understand THEIR struggle and too quickly become “judges” of the Law...............................
James 4:11-12 (KJV)
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Rarely do WE really know what others are enduring. They may reside in our same households and still WE are not able to fully grasp the pain they live in on a daily basis.
TOO OFTEN do WE become THEIR judge:
“If they were really saved THEY would not....................................
If THEY were truly sanctified THEY would not act like...........................
If THEY were truly Christ like THEY would not..................
There are things in the Bible that WE may never fully understand in OUR Bible:
2 Peter 3:16 (KJV)
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Good people-on both sides of the aisle-can have vehement disagreement and valid Scriptural reference! What is so black and white to one is a gray area to another.
Sins and habits that WE long ago forbear THEY still struggle to master
“SOME THINGS” in Scripture ARE “HARD TO BE UNDERSTOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Romans 14:22 (KJV)
22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
God has NOT called any of us to be His “fruit inspectors!!!”
I LOVE THE GAME OF BASEBALL BECAUSE it is a “GAME OF FAILURE!!!”
I baseball player is considered a SUCCESS if he or she has a batting average hovering id the 300 average!! Do WE really understand that ratio???????????????????
That means that the hitter hits safely 3 out of 10 times at bat!!
THREE OUT OF TEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To break that down even further that means he or she FAILS 7 out 10 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As my beloved old friend from Marietta said one time many years ago,
“WE ARE NEVER AS GOOD OR BAD AS OUR LAST AT BAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
TODAY, beloved, whether you hit a home run your last at bat OR struck out,
THANK GOD there is always another game to play.
It is ALWAYS easier to sit “in the cheap seats” and boo those playing the game.
