One of the most attractive features of the 267-acre Shadelands business and lifestyle center is its park-like environment with access to a large network of groomed and paved walking and biking trails that traverse the neighborhood landscapes of the Contra Costa Canal Trail system, linking to and passing through several parks, regional trails, downtown areas, roadways, and BART.

May is National Bike Month, and Thursday, May 9, is the 25th annual Bay Area Bike to Work Day , an excellent opportunity to leave the car at home and hop on a bike to get to Shadelands. Or, consider biking to Pleasant Hill BART and hopping the free Shadelands BART shuttle to get to work.
