Chess tournament fundraiser
Introduction
Under the auspices of St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church of Washington DC, we are organizing a fundraiser chess tournament. The objective of this event is to raise money for humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable population affected by the ongoing aggression against the peaceful people of Artsakh and Armenia. This tournament is for players of different ratings and age groups. Report of collected funds will be shared immediately after the tournament, with all proceeds donated to the All Armenia Fund.
Tournament information
Tournament will be hosted online on October 31st at 11:00 AM Eastern Time USA.
Participants should register at lichess.org platform to participate in the event. The registration deadline midnight OCTOBER 29, 2020.
The format of the tournament will be Arena, conducted in the following manner:
● The tournament will last 100 minutes with players being randomly paired after each match, where the outcome of the previous game will NOT matter.
● Each player will have 10 minutes on their clock. Be mindful of your time! If the player’s time runs out, they will lose!
Fees
All participants must donate $50 to player. Donations over $50 are also welcome and appreciated! Please donate at by CLICKING HERE.
Prizes
The top five players will be awarded with a certificate and souvenir prizes!
