Congratulations once again to all of our division champions! What a great season it was! We hope to see you all back for the summer league!

Registration for the 2022 GVBL Summer League begins on April 15th!
Unlike the winter league, both Great Valley and non-Great Valley residents will be able to play in the league! The season will run from the middle of June to the middle of August. We hope to see all of you back this summer to play some more basketball! As always, we will be looking for coach and referee volunteers.
Tournament Teams

The 29ers had a tough semifinal loss in the ICBA playoffs Sunday to close out the winter season. We are proud of the great effort of all the boys who played until the final buzzer yesterday.  Congratulations to Cooper Willey, Noah Gardner, Tanner Melia, Paul Serpentine, Matthew Kasser, James McCollum, and Blake Sacchetta. Next up for the 29ers is an early April tournament!

The Storm faced off against Council Rock in the ICBA semi-final game. The teams faced off twice in the regular season with the Storm winning the first game by 4 and Council Rock taking the second by one point in overtime. In the playoff game, Kate Weikert dropped in 15 points for the Storm, going 7 of 9 from the free throw line. Maddie Walsh scored all 6 of her points in the fourth quarter, including being on the receiving end of a highlight-reel assist from Maura Wiggers. Ava Hall added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the winning effort for the Storm, as they secured a 39-31 victory that was tight most of the game. The Storm will face off against Deep Run for the ICBA championship at a date and time to be determined. Before that, that team will travel up to State College this weekend to compete in the States Championship tournament.

The 7th Grade Boys Tournament Team and the Girls 5th Grade Hive are also both heading to the state championships this weekend! Best of luck to all of our tournament teams as they look to bring some hardware back to Great Valley!
GVHS Girls Basketball

The GVHS Girls played a tough Parkland team in the first round of the PIAA State Championships last Tuesday and lost, 40-32, to end their season. What a great run by our GVHS Girls and we cannot wait to see what they do next season! Congratulations girls!

GVCO Project Update
GVCO is excited to announce that we have been awarded $750,000.00 of state funding to assist with the construction of our new GVCO Community Center. With the help of Senator Comitta to secure the funding, GVCO sees this as another milestone towards making this wonderful community asset a reality for Great Valley and the surrounding region.

Please see Senator Comitta's recent announcement of the grant this past Monday. We would also like to thank Governor Wolf and the Office of the Budget of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for authorizing this award, supporting GVCO and our project.

GVCO Donor Spotlight
The Barrow Family - Greg, Sandi, Jack, & Ryan
Greg & Sandi both grew up in the area. Sandi is a proud GV alum. Greg owns an insurance agency, and Sandi is most proud of being a mom.

They first heard of GVCO when a little girl came to Jack’s preschool class with her Junior Hoopsters trophy. They knew immediately they had to get the boys involved, and it was love at first sight. The GVBL program was amazing & still is impressive today. Both boys played through high school. Ryan is still playing in the High School division.

In 2010 when GVCO started a youth football program with the Junior Patriots, Sandi & Greg knew their boys, 5 & 7 at the time, would be thrilled to jump on board. It was the best seven seasons ever with GVFL. Greg coached, and Sandi was a GVFL Board Member and League Representative for four seasons.

Not only playing the games & having fun over the years, but it is the life-long friends we have all made that are truly the magic of GVCO. It was essential to pass this spirit on to younger families by supporting GVCO and the new center.

We cannot wait to see all of the happy faces, young and old, at the new GVCO center.
