We Need You … At The Miramar Planning Commission Hearing Tomorrow at 9 a.m.


The first hearing of the Miramar project is tomorrow (Oct. 9). We need parishioners to come and speak. You can come in person or speak via Zoom. You will make a difference, regardless of your views about the project.

Parking is available in the structure on Anacapa (at E. Anapamu St.). When you arrive in Rm. 17, please fill out a speaker slip – we'll be there to help.

 

The hearing begins at 9 am. The Miramar project will likely be heard at approximately 10 am. There is likely to be a shortage of seating. You’ll have roughly 2 minutes to speak - an important 2 minutes.

Key Points to Make


1.      We support locating the affordable housing next to All Saints … in a two-story building next to Jameson and a single story next to All Saints. This preserves our sacred view of the mountains while giving Mr. Caruso everything he says he needs.



2.      The proposed mass, bulk, and scale are out of character with our neighborhood.


3.      The hotel is not currently meeting its requirement to provide enough parking … in fact they have had to “rent” parking spaces from All Saints in each of the past few years.


4.      Why has the County forced this through the review process: there will be 3 hearings in roughly 3 WEEKS on one of the most consequential projects in recent times.
