SUPPORT NEWTON COMMUNITY PRIDE
 THIS GIVING TUESDAY
Art brings joy.  Art and culture programming builds community.  Over the past 30 years, Newton Community Pride has helped support an array of arts, culture, and community programs for the city of Newton.

Our dedication to community engagement and enrichment did not falter this year as we faced the challenges of Covid-19. Newton Community Pride switched gears, but not our mission, and brought the city’s residents, artists and businesses together with new and continuing events:

-Covid Community Cameras Photo Contest
-Saturday Sidewalk Studios (Chalk Art on the Commonwealth Carriage Lane)
-Drive-In Movies and Drive-in Concert
-Newton Alfresco-painted barriers & planters for restaurant outdoor dinning
-Beautification Plantings at Newton Centre Green, Newton Free Library, the Hyde Center in Newton Highlands, and at the Auburndale Library
-The Annual Halloween Window Decorations, changed from paintings to posters, throughout our village centers.

These programs, most done in partnership with Newton Cultural Development, were either free or at a minimal cost. We hope that you were able to enjoy them. We will bring you more in 2021!

But we need your help. Newton Community Pride has some exciting new initiatives planned for 2021.  Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help support our efforts as we plan to bring more joy and build community through new and existing arts, culture, and community programs.

Please donate online here or send a check made payable to Newton Community Pride, PO Box 610101, Newton, MA 02461. If you give at least $25, you will receive a Newton Community Pride mask designed by a local company.

Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for a safe and healthy New Year!

MAYOR'S ANNUAL HOLIDAY LIGHTS
CELEBRATION AT CITY HALL
Tuesday, December 8, 5:30-6pm
The annual celebration will look different this year, but will nonetheless be full of excitement and community engagement in a drive-through COVID safe manner.

The event will feature lights, music, puppets, a free t-shirt, and a greeting from Mayor Fuller. Please remember to bring a new unwrapped gift for a child age newborn-10 years old for The Village Bank and the Newton Police Department's “Stuff a Cruiser” Holiday Gift Drive. Consider also bringing a grocery gift card for Newton's food pantries. A volunteer will collect donations from your trunk.

This event is possible with the support of Newton Parks and Recreation, Newton Cultural Development and Newton Community Pride, which will donate a t-shirt for every donation. More info here
SHOP LOCAL
Shop local this holiday season. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities and they need us now more than ever. Here's a directory from the Newton-Needham Regional Chamber that makes it easy to find our local services, merchants and organizations.
