I am a retired Army chaplain (United Methodist) and I have kept track of the work you have been doing on behalf of religious freedom in the military. My last assignment was the Director of Plans, Policy Development and Training in the Army Chief of Chaplains office at HQDA, Pentagon. I fought these issue constantly as matters of policy including the then Chief of Chaplains who was biased to evangelical Christian expressions. I believe Chaplains in general do not understand their unique role within the military as exemplified by the many complaints from our military installations. In theory a simple phone call to any Installation Chaplain should quickly correct a problem. I am not so sure that is true. I just wanted to let you know that you are spot on target, the problems are not only real but devastating, and I support you 100%.
