Hello Dexter,

Black History Month is a time to honor and reflect on the rich legacy of Black excellence, which has shaped the world through resilience, innovation, and strength. From trailblazers like Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, and Malcolm X to modern icons such as Barack Obama, Serena Williams, and Kamala Harris, the contributions of Black individuals have been instrumental in advancing civil rights, politics, sports, and culture.

These achievements are a testament to the perseverance of a people who, despite adversity, have continued to rise and excel. As Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Faith has always been a cornerstone of Black resilience, guiding individuals toward success and upliftment.

Black excellence is not just about past achievements but also about inspiring future generations to dream big and break barriers. In fields such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), education, and business, Black leaders continue to pave the way, proving that greatness knows no limits. Figures like Madam C.J. Walker, the first female self-made millionaire, and Katherine Johnson, whose mathematical genius helped NASA reach space, demonstrate the power of ambition and intellect. Their stories remind us of the scripture in Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This verse embodies the spirit of determination and faith that has fueled countless Black pioneers to overcome obstacles and achieve greatness.

As we celebrate Black History Month, let us not only recognize past and present achievements but also commit to fostering an environment where Black excellence can thrive in all aspects of society. By supporting Black-owned businesses, advocating for equal opportunities, and educating future generations about the richness of Black history, we contribute to a legacy of progress and empowerment.

Black excellence is a reflection of faith, hard work, and the unshakable belief that greatness is within reach. This month, and always, we celebrate the achievements, culture, and contributions of Black individuals who continue to shape history and inspire the world.

Sincerely,

Pastor Dexter Royes
