 As an example, of what CSID has done for the past 4 years to bridge the gap and help promote genuine dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and democratic norms of government, please take a look at the CSID TUNISIA New Website. CSID TUNISIA has now become one of the most active and most influential NGO's in Tunisia, and has organized hundreds of meetings, seminars, conferences, debates (both open and closed) and training workshops on democracy and citizenship to thousands of Tunisian politicians, experts, activitsts, and normal citizens. Just yesterday, Tunisia won the Nobel Peace Prize for the successful negotiations and dialogue between all political parties. Both civil organizations in general, and CSID in particular, played a key and historic role in this national dialogue and consensus-building efforts, which culminated in a stable and successful transition to democracy: THE FIRST EVER IN THE ARAB WORLD.
In 2016, CSID will continue to support Tunisia's nascent democracy, but will also expand its reach and focus to the other countries of the Arab Spring, in particular Libya, Egypt, Syria, and Yemen. If democracy and national dialogue succeeded in Tunisia, there is no reason why they cannot succeed in Libya, Egypt, Syria, or Yemen.
For the past 16 years, CSID has been at the forefront of two major struggles: supporting and encouraging freedom, human rights, and democracy in the Arab and Muslim Worlds, and educating the American people about Islam, Islamic cultures and civilizations, and Muslims. These two struggles have never been as critical or as entertwined as they are today, but we cannot succeed without your moral and financial support.
The CSID Weekly E-mail Bulletin is sent once a week to 45,000 activists, scholars, experts, politicians, and religious leaders all over the world (in both ENGLISH and ARABIC). Please it to all your friends, and ask them to subscribe. It is FREE, and it will keep you and them informed of major developments in the struggle for freedom, human rights, and democracy.

The Center for the Study of Islam & Democracy is a non-profit think tank, based in Washington DC - dedicated to promoting a better understanding of democracy in the Muslim world, and a better understanding of Islam in America.
