Please remember to Vote
on April 5th.
Greetings!

I understand that Tuesday might feel like every other day.  The media hype about the local elections do not have the same media and tv coverage as the November elections.  However, these elections are just as important and you need to participate.

Congressman Tip O'Neal stated correctly:  "All Politics is Local".

Recommendations

I am not endorsing anyone who is running for the Aurora City Council.  I think that there are motivated and dedicated people running for City Council and I trust the residents of Aurora to make an informed decision on who to vote for.

However, there are people that I have met throughout my term as Alderman that I believe work very hard for the public and if you live in their towns or villages please consider voting for them.  I urge you to do your research in making your final decisions on who to cast your vote for.

East Aurora School District.  There are many good candidates running for East Aurora School board.  However, I have worked with

Mary Anne Turza and feel that she is passionate about the students. I am encouraged by the motivation of youth, and I believe that Ignacio "Nacho" Cervantes will do a good job on the board. During my tenure as Alderman I have worked with Mary Fultz and know that she is dedicated to the community.  Juan Sifuentes, Jr is a resident of the Third Ward and has been active in the community, and Lorena Cundari is very passionate about doing a great job and will work hard.  I know Ray Hull from his work at the City, and I can say that he has always been responsive to the needs of the community.

West Aurora School District.   There are also good candidates for the West Aurora School board.  I have worked with Allyson Herget and Angela Smith.  I believe that these individuals work hard and are dedicated to the mission of SD129.

Naperville Mayor:  I have worked with Mayor George Pradel and will hope he wins another term.  I give credit to the two challengers, they have equal dedication to Naperville.  I have also worked with both Councilmen, Robert Fieseler and Richard "Dick" Furstenau and I believe they are dedicated and an asset for  Naperville.

Oswego Mayor:  I am impressed with the dedication of Brian LeClercq.  I was going to Washington DC to drop off my daughter at her leadership convention, and Brian was driving to Washington DC to talk to then Congressman Foster.  He goes above and beyond for the Village of Oswego.

Village of Montgomery Trustee:  I have worked with Robert Watermann on a few projects and he has always been responsive to my family members who live in Montgomery.  He also gave me a few recommendations of other trustees, which are Matthew Brolley and Jeanne Felten.  While I have not met Matt and Jeanne, Bob is very passionate about working with both of them and I thought I would give them a mention.

Village of North Aurora:  I have worked with Mark Guethle and I believe that he is very dedicated and devoted to the Village of North Aurora.

United City of Yorkville:  I have seen Valerie Burd work very hard for Yorkville and I believe that she is a dedicated public servant.  I also have worked with Arden J. Plocher and believe that he is hardworking for his community.

Village of Carol Stream:  I think that Frank Saverino, Sr is the best person for the job in Carol Stream.  I used to live close to Carol Stream when I was growing up and I have met Frank on numerous occasions.  He will continue to do a great job.

Village of Romeoville:  I believe that John Noak is doing a good job for the community and he is very dedicated to Romeoville.  I have met John many times and believe that he will continue to do a good job.

Forest Park:  I have not only met Anthony Calderone but we went through leadership classes together and I know that he will continue to do a good job.

University Park:  I have known Vivian Covington for many years.  She is dedicated to making University Park the best it can be.  I know she will do a good job.

Village of Justice:  The newly formed People's Voice Party Candidates are all very dedicated to move Justice forward and I enjoyed meeting all of them.  My friend, Kinga, is not up for re-election this year but she is a very dedicated trustee and does a good job.

These are my recommendations, and I urge you to do research on all the candidates and make a well informed vote on April 5th in your community.

Sincerely,

Signature

Alderman Stephanie Kifowit
City of Aurora

P.S.  I would also like your vote on April 5th if you live in the 3rd Ward.  I do not have an opponent; however, your support still means a lot to me.
