We are pleased to announce that Doug Marshall has joined the Vanir team as our new Vice President of Marketing. In this role, Doug will oversee all marketing, communications and pursuit efforts. He will also work with Vanir’s business development team to design and implement high-impact marketing strategies that drive growth, increase client retention and promote brand awareness.

What drew you to Vanir?

Right off the bat, I was impressed with Vanir’s family-focused approach to doing business. People here are valued at all levels, and diversity is not only accepted but sought out and celebrated. Having previously worked for a competitor, I was also drawn to the industry. When it comes to program, project and construction management, no two days are ever alike. I very much enjoy the variety this industry brings.

What experience do you bring to Vanir?

I've worked for a variety of companies across several different industries. While the industries I've served have changed, my focus has remained the same over the last 20+ years. My areas of expertise include:

Marketing strategy development and delivery
Business development and sales support
Team and project management
CRM strategy and deployment
Proposal development
Public relations and social media oversight
Content strategy and positioning

What is your greatest achievement?

Without a doubt, my greatest achievement in life is my family. I met my wife in March of 1984 and proposed three weeks later. By December, we were married. I’m proud to say that we’ll be celebrating 35 years next month, and that we've been blessed with five incredible children and 12 grand kids.

If you could have dinner with anyone (living or dead), who would you choose?

Nikola Tesla. The man was a genius and way before his time. I would love to just pick his brain and learn more about the first AC generator and motor.

What is a fun fact about you?

My dog was in an episode of "The Office" back in 2011. It's the one where Michael Scott gets left behind at a gas station and starts wandering around Scranton, ultimately stopping at a pet store to play with puppies. Needless to say, when my wife and I heard about the appearance a few weeks later, we jumped in our car and drove the 350 miles from our home in Phoenix to the breeder’s house in Orange County. Eight years later, Dwight, our English Cream Golden Retriever, is still the star of the show.
