The Southern Christian Leadership Conference has been at the forefront in obtaining and protecting the right to vote since its inception. Dating back to our founding President, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we have understood that securing the right to vote and the act of voting are essential to the civic and political, economic and religious freedoms that being a citizen offers.
SCLC VOTES is an initiative that will focus on the impact of these and other suppression efforts and how they impact our local and national politics. They will also highlight actions to combat these efforts individually and collectively.
