Welcome Readers,
Happy holiday season!
Have you started shopping yet? Please know this: we're not judging you if you haven't! We're just asking because we'd love to help you with this overwhelming task. As an added incentive for shopping in Northbrook this year, you may enter a raffle with each $20 purchase you make! Just look for the above (or to the right) picture in stores to remind you to upload your receipt and contact info and be entered to win! Read more here!
We've mentioned our audiobook partner, Libro.fm, as an option for a great gift idea; please feel free to give us a ring with any questions you may have about this. Libro.fm has a great selection of books and fabulous customer service. We'd be grateful if you set up your account to be affiliated with our store (Book Bin's Libro.fm Page). As of right now, Alli has listened to over 200 books (203.5 to be exact); Amy is up to 84 completed audiobooks and is currently listening to Bono read his book, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story. Andrea buys audiobooks she thinks both she and her husband Dave will enjoy.
It's been quite a year of reading for us; we hope the same is true for you too! If we don't get a chance to see you in the store this month, please have a safe and happy holiday and we'd love to help you in the future!
Kindly,
Alli & Amy & Everyone at the Book Bin

Book Bin's Upcoming Events
Adult Book Discussion
The date of our next Book Discussion is Thursday, January 5 at 7:00 pm.
Our Book Discussion group is very welcoming! There is no need to RSVP to this in-person event at the store, but you may call us if you you'd like us to expect you. Please join next month as we discuss The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles with Sheila Whalen as our discussion group leader.
"Based on the true story of the heroic librarians at the American Library in Paris during World War II, The Paris Library is a moving and unforgettable “ode to the importance of libraries, books, and the human connections we find within both” (Kristin Harmel, New York Times bestselling author)"

Mystery Book Club
The date for our next in-person Mystery Book Club will be Monday, January 23 at 7:00 pm.
Our next mystery book club will discuss Clark and Division by Naomi Hirahara, and we hope you can join us.
Inspired by historical events in Chicago, 1944, Clark and Division infuses an atmospheric and heartbreakingly real crime with rich period details and delicately wrought personal stories Naomi Hirahara has gleaned from thirty years of research and archival work in Japanese American history.

Fiction Favorites
Books to fall in love with!
If you came by the store and read our e-newsletters this year, these are the books about which we were the most excited. An interesting thing about reading and recommending is that it is such a fluid and changeable thing. Yesterday, a book you read last month may be your favorite, but if you finish a book over your morning coffee, you could easily have a "new favorite".

Nonfiction Favorites
Books to help our minds grow!
Though there are countless books on limitless subjects when it comes to nonfiction, there is always the newest of the new for us to recommend. These 10 interesting reads make good gift ideas; if you need others, you know where to find us!

Talking Books with Alice & Ann
This makes a great holiday gift for any reader!
Do you need a gift for someone who doesn't need any more "things" but wants "experiences" instead? This gift is available in either a 6 month subscription ($125) or a 12 month subscription ($250). Every other month, subscription holders will receive a book selection in the mail from Book Bin in Northbrook; the following month is when the live "Talking Books With Alice and Ann" session will take place to dig deeper meaning from the selection. If you or a friend like to hear about the deeper meanings of a book but don't want the pressures of participating in a traditional book club, then this could be the gift you and they desire!
This subscription for books and Siskel & Ebert-style discussions can bring together readers across the country, as it takes place entirely over Zoom. If you are the type who likes to LISTEN at a book discussion but not necessarily SPEAK, then this is for you!
Call or email Alice and Ann to sign yourself up or give this as a gift; they will send out a card to the recipient and Book Bin will send out the book to you/your friend every other month.
