Vision...Precious Gifts...Community Support
I have had the privilege of being involved with Clarehouse for almost the entire 13 years of its existence. My initial connection was as a family member of a guest (my mother-in-law) and then as a volunteer. For the past two of years, I have served as a member of the Board of Directors. When I recently read a letter from Zach, the son of one of our guests, to his employer about his reflections on his family's experience at Clarehouse, it made my heart swell.  Listen to his words...
  • Vision:  Zach wrote; "I want to thank you for your vision..." - he was thanking his employer for the vision to create a charitable trust and for supporting good works..."Clarehouse is a wonderful blessing to me and my family during this difficult time. I know it has provided peace and comfort to numerous families and will continue to be a blessing for countless families to come." This only reinforces the importance of the mission that was borne of our Executive Director's vision of providing loving end-of-life care more than 15 years ago.
  • Precious Gifts"I visited my Mom and Dad after their first night at Clarehouse. My Mom broke down and told me that they had both slept through the night for the first time in two weeks. With tears in her eyes, she said Clarehouse had given them "a new life". The facility is beautiful, peaceful and overflowing with a home-like warmth. I am so thankful that they have been given this precious gift of comfort, care and dignity during this extremely difficult time." What a joy to hear that this family feels they have received those "gifts" while at Clarehouse.
  • Community Support: A wonderful example of support is the sponsorship of the individual guest rooms. "...my Mom opened the information book provided by Clarehouse. On the very first page, we were shocked to find that my Dad's room, Room One, is sponsored by the Paragon Films For Christ Charitable Trust. In that moment, we knew with all our heart and soul that God was with us." Zach and his family, to their surprise, were occupying the very room his employer had sponsored. The ability to offer our services free of charge is due to the tremendous support of the community.
Living. Loving. Sharing.  ~ I am thrilled that Zach and his family are doing just that.

Quality end-of-life care in a one-of-a-kind, warm and cozy home is provided 100% free to dying people in need. One way our care is sustained is through the dedicated support of the Clarehouse Comfort Circle -our annual giving society.
