Our needs are ever growing!

As our economy continues to struggle, the number of families experiencing financial difficulties in Brevard County is on the rise. Unfortunately, this means that many children are also suffering from hunger. But we at TCHP, together with the support of our community, are determined to make a difference and help fill the gaps for families that are experiencing hunger issues.

A local school principal has shared her story with us about how important it is for children to feel supported by the community they live in. At TCHP, we couldn't agree more. By coming together and working towards a common goal, we can show these children that they are not alone and that we are here to help.

So let's join forces and fight hunger in Brevard County. Whether it's through volunteering your time, making a donation, or spreading the word about our cause, every bit counts. Together, we can make a real difference and create a brighter future for our community.

“...Moved by the intense needs of one of our families in need, I made a decision to become the legal caretaker of two of our students. The family had experienced the loss of the father, the mother was experiencing depression, and the children were in need of a loving, caring home.

One of the first things I noticed was how important the weekend food packs from TCHP had become to the boys. They sorted the food, shared and stored. When I told them they did not need to bring the bags home every week, they had a hard time stopping. They eventually stopped. They always continued to show appreciation.

The impact: When children feel supported by the community they live in, they have a greater chance at supporting the community when they are able. Their resiliency thrives.”

Faith Communities Make it Happen!

St. John the Evangelist

Catholic Community Packing Event

St. John faith community, from young to old, came together once again to assist local children at risk of hunger. TCHP was blessed to be presented with a check for $15,000 from St. John’s.

Father John started the packing event with a blessing. After the packing session he shared this message:

“Thanks to all who participated in the Children’s Hunger Project food packing event on Saturday. We put together more than 5,000 food packets. We are so grateful to you for your generosity! St. John’s has partnered with this Project from their inception. Please keep these children in your prayers.”

FACT: Over 10,000 Brevard school children live below the poverty line and do not have enough food to eat. 62% of teachers know of at least one child that is still coming to school hungry! Faith communities consistently help to make sure children are fed at local schools. The Georgianna Church family recently packed with us, and they are a constant supporter of schools in their community with packing and delivering weekend food packages. There are so many within the faith community who ensure children are fed on an ongoing basis, like Lineage, Ascension, Grove Church and Riverside Presbyterian. We are blessed in Brevard to have so many who prep, pack and deliver food; hold food donation drives; and hold special fundraisers for our kids.
