Please Don't Post Signs on Utility Poles
Please do not hang anything on utility poles.

We know it can be tempting to hang signs or other items on utility poles, but there are good reasons why you shouldn't.

Staples, nails, and tacks used to hang signs and flyers create dangerous obstacles for our linemen. They also damage our poles, shortening their lives and, in turn, increasing our maintenance costs.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, reliable electrical distribution system.
Slow Down, Move Over for Our Line Crews
When you see our crews working alongside the road, please slow down or move over.

Typically, cones, traffic signs, or flaggers will alert you that we have a crew ahead. When you see these indicators, please slow down or move over a lane if that is a safe option.

Thank you for helping keep our crews safe.
Please Stay Safe from Scam Attempts
Please beware of scam artists imitating Columbia River PUD employees.

Columbia River PUD will never call customers to demand immediate payment. If you receive a suspicious phone call like this, please hang up and call us at (503) 397-0590.

Please Plant Trees Away from Power Lines
We work hard to provide you with reliable, affordable electric service. Trees that are too close to power lines can cause interruptions in service and may even put people in danger.

You can help by planting trees at least 30 feet away from overhead power lines. Leaving more clearance between trees, limbs, and power lines helps reduce the risk of power outages.

Home Upgrades Can Cut Energy Waste
Heating and cooling systems use a lot of energy. You could be wasting that energy if air is escaping your home.

If you heat your home with electricity, you may be eligible for rebates for increasing the insulation or upgrading the windows in your home.
Request a Free Home Energy Evaluation
Did you know we offer free home energy evaluations to customers who heat their homes with electricity?

These evaluations can help you identify opportunities to cut energy waste, which in turn helps keep your bills down.

Older homes typically benefit the most from energy evaluations.
