BCHS Virtual Annual Fund Kick-Off is Sept. 2
Dear friend of Bishop Chatard,

On September 2, Bishop Chatard will launch its 2021 Annual Fund. As with many things this year, our ‘Annual Fund during a pandemic’ drive is being conducted virtually with the help of video and electronic communications. In addition to reading the Annual Fund letter that you will soon be receiving from Bishop Chatard’s president, Bill Sahm, we hope that you will take a moment to visit our website where, on Sept. 2, we will be releasing our Virtual Annual Fund Dinner video.

As you are likely aware, Bishop Chatard’s Annual Fund is our effort to help nearly half of our students with tuition assistance and to take care of our teachers with well-deserved compensation. It is a challenge this year to raise the much-needed $1.3 million, in part because we are not able to provide an in-person experience. Hence, our Annual Fund video is a way that we will deliver our Annual Fund message asking for your financial participation.

We hope that you will be inspired to join fellow parents, past parents, grandparents, alumni, fans and friends of BCHS in this 2021 Annual Fund Drive. Be assured of our continuous efforts to provide the best high school experience for all of our students, teachers and families. Daily education and faith formation continues at BCHS today via a hybrid school schedule that has our students learning both in the classroom and virtually, bringing only half of our student body on campus on any given day. At this time, we are planning to evolve to a full in-person program on Sept. 8. This pandemic has taught us many things, including the value we glean from being together.

As we navigate through these uncharted waters, we are constantly seeking and creating new avenues that allow us to stay true to our mission. Conducting our traditional Annual Fund drive in this unconventional way is yet another example of that.

Of particular note, the tradition of recognizing Bishop Chatard’s Achievement Award honorees will continue as part of our Virtual Annual Fund Dinner celebration. Please join us in congratulating our 2020 honorees:

  • Mr. Gary Pritts, Outstanding Faculty/Staff Honoree
  • Mrs. Kari Guymon, Volunteer Parent Extraordinaire
  • The Joe and Barb Krier Foundation, Distinguished Alumni
  • Sahm’s Restaurants and Catering, Stalwart Community Member

All of these honorees have gone above and beyond in their commitment and service to Bishop Chatard High School.

Once again, it is with conviction in our mission and love for Bishop Chatard that we ask you to join us on this journey to make 2020-2021 a successful year. Together, and with God’s providential care, we will do great things!

Please consider a gift to Bishop Chatard High School, and watch for the launch of our 2021 Virtual Annual Fund Dinner video, featuring our Achievement Award honorees, on Sept. 2.

In gratitude,
Margaret Ruffing
