You can Help Students of Verde Elementary in North Richmond
The Holidays are coming up. It's a great time to appreciate what we have and share with those less fortunate.

For the past 17 years, we've sponsored the Verde Elementary Toy & Coat Drive. It's one of my favorite traditions. This year, I hope you'll join me in supporting this effort, with a new twist.

Instead of toys, books will be provided to every student courtesy of West County READS. And instead of coats, we'll make sure every student has a new, warm hoodie.

Verde teachers, staff and parents work to sustain a positive school climate and boost student achievement by reminding students that they are "stars" every day. Our goal is to give each student a new hoodie printed with the words "Think You Can! Work Hard! Get Smart!" The hoodies are part of the school uniform.

Thanks to great work by parents, educators and students, Verde has become a shining light in a community facing challenges. We are proud to support the success of these young people, and we need your help.

We need to raise about $7,000 to cover 320 hoodies. Your tax deductible cash or check donation will help us reach this goal. All donations must be received by Friday, December 12th.

Checks should be made payable to the non-profit Neighborhood House of North Richmond c/o 2015 Verde Hoodie Drive.
Donations and checks can be dropped off or mailed to my office, 11780 San Pablo Avenue, Suite D, El Cerrito, CA 94530. Just north of the El Cerrito Del Norte BART Station.
