Message from Jude+

We are now in the “Alleluia’s” of Easter Season.
Alleluia, the Lord is Risen!
Alleluia, the Church has opened its doors!
Alleluia, the lilies of the valley glorify God’s creation with new life!

Today, April 22nd is earth day,
O heavenly Father, who has filled the world with beauty.
Open our eyes to behold your gracious hand in all your works.
Rejoicing in creation, may we learn to cherish and protect all that you have made.
                                   (BCP, 814, adapted)
Sunday, the 4th Sunday of the Easter, is called Good Shepherd Sunday!
Grant that when we hear his voice, we may know him who calls us each by name,
And follow where he leads. (Collect)

In the midst of all the struggles of this week, may we take comfort in the knowledge that
The Lord is My Shepherd.
Blessings,
Dear Friends - Welcome Back!
After last Sunday's successful first time back in the Sanctuary, we look forward to continuing to greet all those who wish to return in person on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. There are plenty of spaces, so don't feel you cannot come if you were here last week. If we start to run short of room we'll let you know.

As Rev. Jerry reminded us all in his sermon last Sunday, whether we are in-person, or connected virtually through God's miracles of technology, we remain one community; one body, united in the Holy Spirit and in our faith.

Before you attend please read the links below.
  • To attend the service you must reserve a place in advance so that we can manage social distancing and keep records as per Diocesan rules.
  • Click here to make your reservation. You can read details of our safety precautions when you reserve your place.
  • If you have problems with the online system please contact Mary in the church office - 310 375 4617.
  • Livestreamed worship will still continue - indefinitely - to take our mission out beyond our walls, and to those who cannot, or do not wish to attend in person. Our at-home congregation are loved and appreciated and not forgotten!

Drive-through Holy Communion
We are also still offering drive-through Holy Communion this Sunday morning - the times are 11:15 -11:30. Please RSVP to Jude+ either by text 310-701-5966 or email.
Meanwhile, Rev. Jude continues to lead and offer opportunities for faith, connection and pastoral care, as below.
Please don't hesitate to contact her by email, phone, text 310-701-5966, or in person, with questions/prayers/requests/ideas for other groups or practices. We deeply want to continue to support all of our church family as we navigate these 'in-between' times with regard to the pandemic, and as we move forward into a new normal.

Statement From Bishop Taylor on Derek Chauvin Murder Conviction
Please read.
"Most of all, may today’s verdict affirming that Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd enable Mr. Floyd’s family and friends to receive some measure of comfort and peace. I invite all in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles to keep them in our prayers as well as the people of Minneapolis and all who have been victims of racism and oppression."
