Online NIF Workshop
at Summer Learning Springboard of the
National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation (NCDD)

Monday, July 25, 2022
3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. EDT

With national, statewide, and local elections taking place in November, an examination of encouraging and safeguarding voting is both timely and relevant in communities across the country. Join the National Issues Forums Institute (NIFI) for an online workshop to explore the fundamental practices of convening and moderating community and campus discussions on this critically important issue.

This interactive workshop will share concepts and practices useful to both new and experienced practitioners. A wide range of issue-specific and general resources will be provided relevant to deliberative discussions on voting and many other critical public issues.

The NIFI workshop is one of several during the annual Summer Learning Springboard of the National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation (NCDD). Throughout the week of July 25-29, civic and educational organizations throughout the country will join NCDD in hosting online workshops focusing on practices that help people come together across differences to tackle our most challenging public problems.

To register for the workshop and to learn more about other offerings during NCDD’s Summer Learning Springboard, visit the NCDD website.

About Deliberation in National Issues Forums
National Issues Forums issue guides are designed to stimulate public deliberation, which is a way of making decisions together that is different from discussion or debate. The purpose of deliberative forums is to inform collective action. As citizens, we have to make decisions together before we can act together, whether with other citizens or through legislative bodies. Acting together is essential for addressing problems that can't be solved by one group of people or one institution. These problems have more than one cause and therefore have to be met by a number of mutually reinforcing initiatives with broad public participation.

About the National Issues Forums Institute

The National Issues Forums Institute's mission is to promote the use of public deliberation in schools, colleges, civic organizations, and religious institutions in the United States. The institute's board members are volunteers drawn from leaders in government, colleges and universities, libraries, civic organizations, the media, and medicine. For more information visit www.nifi.org.
