September 7, 2018

Greetings!

Next week, the Coalition once again will be partnering with Massachusetts Law Reform Institute and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education to present the annual Basic Benefits Training on Emergency Assistance (EA) Shelter Benefits: Assisting Families Experiencing Homelessness . The training will be held on Thursday, September 13th in Boston. Please click on the image below for more details, and register to join with advocates, providers, and lawyers from across the Commonwealth to learn new information and brush up on advocacy tips to better serve families with children that are navigating the EA and HomeBASE programs.

In other news, the Coalition's former Legislative Advocate/Community Organizer, Tina Giarla, recently transitioned within the Coalition to become the A Bed for Every Child Program Director. We are grateful for all of Tina's organizing work on the policy team for the past five years-- three years as a staff member and for two years before that as an intern. Tina has wasted no time and is now bringing her tremendous creativity and skills to expand A Bed for Every Child.

With that transition, the Coalition is very excited to introduce to you two new members of our public policy advocacy team, James Saucedo and Molly Schulman. Please read more about James and Molly below, and join us in welcoming them. We look forward to having you meet James and Molly, and collaborate with them in moving forward the Coalition's bill and budget priorities. All together, we can better ensure that everyone has a place to call home.

Happy September!

Best wishes,
Kelly

She is thrilled to be back in the Boston area working with the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless this year as the Community Organizing/Legislative Advocacy Fellow in conjunction with the JOIN for Justice Fellowship .
