As you hit the field hard, honing your skills, it's important to remember safety precautions to ensure that you and your teammates prevent injuries that will keep you from playing the game you love. We tend to think of preventing injuries like broken bones, torn ligaments, or concussions. Heart health shouldn't be sidelined.
Athletes and their families are better equipped to prevent situations from happening if they know the signs to watch for. If during practice, a game, or any physical activity, you experience any of the below warning signs, please seek medical attention as soon as possible:
- Passing out
- Dizziness
- Chest Pain
- Shortness of breath
- Seizures
