Hello Wildcat Community!
I hope you have all been well since my last Wildcat Weekly correspondence! So many things are happening at our school right now. Our fall sports have been practicing hard and have begun to compete (GO WILDCATS!) and many of our after school programs are also starting up! One of the other big events going on here at the school this week is the IOWA and CogAT testing. The students have been working diligently on their tests, giving their very best effort every day. Thank you for continuing to help your child succeed here at school by ensuring a good night’s rest, a healthy breakfast, and a timely arrival to school. Here is a little information about the IOWA/CogAT tests:
• IOWA: This test assesses student concept attainment in several areas, including reading, writing, spelling, math, science, social studies, vocabulary, etc. All students in grades 1st-8th will take the IOWA test.
• CogAT: This test will assess a student's reasoning and problem solving skills using verbal, non-verbal, and qualitative questions. It is administered to all students in 1st-8th grade.
The results of these two tests provide valuable insight for your child's teacher. Our teachers use the test results to identify each student's academic strengths and areas in need of support, which will in turn inform the teacher's classroom instruction.
Thank you all for your continued support!
Blessings to you and your loved ones,
Mr. Paul Vanasse
Assistant Principal

CATHOLIC COMMITTEE ON SCOUTING
|

The Spiritual Life Committee at Saint Andrew Catholic School offers two blessed statues to its families: A statue of Rosa Mystica and an Immaculate Heart of Mary Statue. Each week (from Wednesday afternoon to the following Wednesday morning) two families will have the opportunity to take these statues home and use them as a source of inspiration, prayer and reflection. The tote bag containing the statue will also have suggested prayers. This special tradition will hopefully be one full of meaning and faith for each of you.
