August 13, 2019
God of wisdom and might,
we praise you for the wonder of our being,
for mind, body and spirit.
Be with our children as they begin
a new school year.
Bless them and their teachers and staff.
Give the strength and grace as their bodies grow;
wisdom and knowledge to their minds
as they search for understanding;
and peace and zeal to their hearts.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The theme of the Diocese 50th anniversary celebration is: Eucharist Makes us the Church. SAINT ANDREW PARISH NEWS
NEWSLETTER FOR YOU

Bringing Home the Word  is a two-page Lectionary-based newsletter for families. Each week, the readings for Sunday and the week following are listed for your reference. The main article relates the Sunday Gospel to our lives today. "The Home Church" offers a faith-filled reflection and an activity for families, and the "Prayer" can be used as a table blessing or in a small group meeting. The "Reflection Questions" provide thought-provoking questions that encourage discussion among families.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

Starting Monday August 19th Saint Andrew will open the Sacred Heart Adoration Chapel on weekdays from 7am to 9pm and soon to follow on weekends as well.
To date we have been blessed with 126 committed adorers to a weekly hour of Adoration and 27 subs. God is amazing!!

There are still slots to fill to open on Saturday/Sunday and also our goal is to have 2 people per shift and many weekday spots are in need of an additional adorer as well.

See the list below of times Adorers are still needed. You can look in the "need" column to see how many are needed still during each hour. If an hour is not on the list or a whole entire day (like Monday) is not there, it is because the slot is already filled with 2 adorers or in some cases even more.

If you are interested in signing up or to learn more about Adoration in general you can do so at  https://standrewcc.org/eucharistic-adoration. If you cannot commit to a weekly slot right now signing up as a sub is also available. Just check sub only when you sign up.
