Please Sign up to Help on July 4th!
All you readers of this Zero Waste newsletter -- this is our big ask of the year: if possible, please sign up for a two-hour shift to help at the discard stations on July 4th down in Winslow.

Shifts are as follows:
Set-up and some staffing: 7-9am (7 volunteers)
Staffing:
9-11am (10 volunteers)
11-1pm (10)
1-3pm (10 - during the parade, so chances are you won’t see it, though a few stations are within viewing distance)
3-5pm (10)
Clean-up: 5-6:30pm (7)

This is our big community contribution to keep the Grand Old Fourth a low-waste tradition. You don't need pre-training. You'll get a grabber (and gloves if you want), guideline sheets ahead of time, the shift-taker before you will brief you, plus I'm a text or walk-by away on the day of. Additionally, the vendors have been contacted so that as much as possible is compostable.

Please join us.
The Rotary Green Team Needs You, Too!
From June 30-July 8, 8am-8pm (minus half of July 3 and all of July 4), 1500 volunteers are hard at work collecting, preparing and eventually selling donations to help Rotary raise hundreds of thousands of dollars that is then returned to our community in the form of grants to nonprofits for worthy projects and programming.
The Rotary Auction Green Team keeps the majority of the packaging and unsellable donations out of the landfill with its five divisions:
Recycling, Green Desk, Lawn of Opportunity, Cardboard, and Food. You can join up and try out different divisions and keep signing up as the days go by.

You'll get lunch and dinner, feel a great sense of camaraderie, and after volunteering a certain number of hours, become eligible to buy from departments early, as allowed.

Please consider signing up below for a couple or more hours for one or more days. Thank you!
