Dear Capital Area Soccer Association Families:

We are excited to welcome Gino DiFlorio as CASA's new Technical Director!

For many of you, Gino is a familiar face. He has been a coach and trainer with our club for a few years and has also been serving as one of the club's assistant technical directors, focusing on CASA's elite travel teams. Gino has extensive experience in leading large soccer clubs and is one of the most respected soccer administrators in the region.

As our new Technical Director, Gino will work collaboratively with our Club Manager, Casey Lenker, as well as our Club's staff and coaches, to run and implement the technical side of our operations. He will be the primary point of contact for our coaches and trainers, as well as a resource for players and parents. Gino brings a wealth of soccer knowledge, energy and perspective to the position and will look to continue to grow our club. Anyone who knows Gino knows he has a strong passion for the game of soccer and for CASA's players and programs, and he will be a major asset for the future of our club.

Gino was selected by the CASA Board of Directors to take over as the club's Technical Director for Richard Chinapoo, who announced his retirement earlier this month. Richard was one of the founding members of CASA back in 1996 and returned a few years ago to usher the club through some difficult times. You can read Richard's Open Letter to the families of CASA here.

Richard will transition into a consulting role and also remain as a coach within our club. Our gratitude to him for all that he has done for CASA cannot be expressed in words.

Gino officially started transitioning into his new role as Technical Director on Aug. 9th. We look forward to Gino's leadership and wish him all the best in this new position.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas
President
CASA Board of Directors
