Sunday, April 6 - Welcoming Group Session

Plymouth’s next Welcoming Group for prospective new members is this Sunday, April 6, 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in the Amistad Room. If your journey of faith is leading you to explore becoming a member, this is a one-time required session. Whether you are confident, confused, or curious, our time together is focused on orientation, conversation, interpretation, and exploration. It is an opportunity for you to ask questions and to meet others who are considering affirming their formal relationship with Plymouth Church, UCC. A light lunch will be provided, and childcare is available upon request.

Wednesday, April 9 - Wednesday Night Live Continues

Wednesday Night Live programming continues on Wednesday, April 9. At 5:00 pm there will be adult choir rehearsal and children's choir rehearsal. The Lenten Book Study with Rev. Timothy will begin at 5:15 pm, followed by dinner at 6:00 pm. Handbells will meet at 6:30 pm. Cassidy Cwierthia will lead an introduction to worship sign language in the chapel at 7:00 pm. All activities are open to anyone in the church, regardless of membership status. Come for activities, or just come for dinner and fellowship! The suggested cost for dinner is $10 per person, though no one will be turned away due to inability to pay. If you plan to come for dinner, please sign up in the Folsom Room in advance so our caterer knows how much food to prepare. Hope to see you there!

Lenten Book Study

Our Lenten book study continues with Michael J. Sandel’s 2009 New York Times bestseller Justice: What’s the Right Thing to Do?. This Wednesday, we will review chapter 9.

This may seem a puzzling choice in that it is not explicitly a religious book but rather a book about ethics and what different people mean by the word “justice.” Is it the greatest good for the greatest number, freedom for individuals to choose whatever they will, being treated fairly and minimizing inequality, the common good, or something else? Folks are encouraged to bring a copy of the book with them.

Wednesday, April 9 - Sign Language in Worship

Are you curiously watching the American Sign Language interpretation during worship? Join Cassidy Cwierthia for this introduction to worship signs. Learn to recognize some common religious signs, and join along in signing the Lord’s Prayer and common songs at 7 pm on Wednesdays beginning April 9 in the Chapel. All ages are welcome!

Tuesday, April 29 - Solar United Letter Writing Campaign

Support solar energy in Allen County! Plan to attend a letter writing event in the Folsom Room on April 29 to learn more about the possibility of bringing grid scale solar development to the area. More details are coming soon, but for now, mark your calendars!

General Announcements

March 2025 Solar Panel Output

The church solar panels produced a total of 587.74 kWh of electricity in March. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the typical American home uses roughly 30 kWh of electricity per day.

12 Microinverters were recalibrated between March 19 and March 24. Special thanks to Bill Balasia and Paul Smith from Surefire Solar Solutions for keeping the solar panels in top shape!

Safety Attendants

The Safety Committee is looking for a few good folks to serve as Safety attendants periodically during worship services. An attendant will greet late comers in the Narthex during worship, be responsible for communicating with the office in the event of a medical emergency or natural disaster, aid in fire and tornado drills, and more. If you would like to assist in this endeavor, please sign up at the following link.

Office Volunteers Needed for Weekly Staff Meetings

Do you have some time available on Tuesdays and are looking for something to do? Would you like to aid your favorite Plymouth Receptionist in making sure that everyone is greeted with a kind and smiling face? Do we have the opportunity for you! Plymouth staff are looking for volunteers to cover for the receptionist during the staff meetings every Tuesday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. It’s a quiet time for the church, the most you may have to do is answer a phone call or two, maybe complete a small project.

To sign up as a volunteer, speak with Jake in the office or click the button below.
