Sunday, December 7 - Chapel Class: 'A Moment of Truth' Document

After two years of genocide in Gaza, an ecumenical group of Palestinian Christians have recently come together to publish a statement entitled 'A Moment of Truth: Faith in a Time of Genocide.' As we enter the season of Advent, in which we remember the birth of Jesus in Palestine 2,000 years ago, it is appropriate to hear the voices of our Christian siblings in Palestine today and to heed their cries for mercy, justice, truth and peace.

Starting this Sunday, Rev. Sara will be leading a two-week series on this recently published document, and what it means for how we live our faith in solidarity with our Palestinian siblings this Advent and Christmas season. The sessions will conclude with concrete actions that everyone can take this holiday season and beyond.

Chapel Class is open to all adults at 9:00 am every Sunday, in person or on zoom. The password for zoom is 247302.

Sunday, December 7 - Las Posadas Procession

Plymouth children and families are invited to our fifth Las Posadas celebration on Sunday, December 7. This is a Mexican Christian tradition, focusing on the Holy Family seeking shelter, being denied initially, and finally being welcomed. Participants will process throughout the building and sing the Las Posadas song in English, which will conclude with a celebration in the Folsom Room with refreshments. All ages are invited to experience this event, which will happen immediately after worship.

Note: while participants will be inside for the vast majority of the time, there will be one section that will involve being briefly outside, so warm coats are encouraged.

Tuesday, December 9 - Make the Yuletide Gay

It's your newest holiday tradition! Don your gay apparel and cozy up next to three award-winning songwriters for a night of holiday classics, original music, storytelling, comfort, and joy on Tuesday, December 9, 7 pm at Plymouth. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

2025 International Folk Music Artist of the Year award winner Crys Matthews is joined by genre-defying artist/activist Heather Mae and shame-slaying singer-songwriter drag queen Flamy Grant for a winter show like no other. We're making merry and celebrating the resilience of the LGBTQ+ community in a time when so many are trying to silence their voices. Don't miss this night of feel-good, uplifting, soul-filling music as we Make the Yuletide Gay.

Tickets are $12.50 and can be purchased at the link below, or at the door. For those needing assistance with the cost of the ticket, please email Rev. Sara Ofner-Seals at smo@plymouthfw.org.

December 8-13 - ICMEP: Tashi Kyil Tibetan Buddhist Monks

Bringing a message of peace, reflection, impermanence and spiritual enlightenment, five Buddhist monks of the Tashi Kyil Monastery in Dehra Dun, India will visit Fort Wayne from Dec. 8-13. They will create (and ritually destroy) a Compassion Mandala, and, through performances, educate the public about Tibetan Buddhist culture and religion.

During the week, there will be multiple opportunities to learn and participate with the monks:

Opening Ritual: Mandala Creation
