Sunday, January 11 - Education Hour Returns: Anti-Racism Stories

Education hour returns this Sunday, January 11 at 9 am, with an intergenerational series on anti-racism stories, which will take place upstairs in Room 204. We hope both kids and adults of all ages will join us for this intergenerational series! Note: there will be no Zoom option given the location.

Sunday, January 11 - Board and Officer Training

There will be a board and officer training session following worship on Sunday, January 11 in the Chapel. This training is for all board members, committee members, chairpersons, and church officers. Our aim is to finish in about 45 minutes. If you are on one of our 2025 boards or committees, your attendance is requested.

Monday, January 12 - Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer Group continues on Mondays, at 5:30 pm in the Plymouth Chapel. All are welcome to attend, regardless of your level of knowledge or experience. If you've ever been curious about Centering Prayer, which is a form of Christian silent meditation, now is the perfect time to come check it out! We are a small but friendly group and are always open to newcomers. We meet every Monday, so feel free to drop in as often or as sporadically as you like!

Wednesday, January 14 - Wednesday Night Live Resumes

Wednesday Night Live programming continues this Wednesday. At 5:00 pm there will be adult choir rehearsal. At 5:15 pm there will be Bible Study with Rev. Timothy, followed by dinner at 6:00 pm. Handbells will meet at 6:30 pm. All activities are open to anyone in the church, regardless of membership status. Come for activities or just come for dinner and fellowship! The suggested cost for dinner is $10 per person, though no one will be turned away due to the inability to pay. If you plan to come for dinner, please sign up in the Folsom Room in advance so our caterer knows how much food to prepare. Hope to see you there!

Thursday, January 15 - Yoga Class

Come join Jan Evrard for a weekly yoga class in the Folsom Room. This class will combine both chair and vinyasa flow movements, making it accessible for everyone. There is a cost of $5 for each class, but no one will be turned away. Some yoga mats will be provided; however, bring your mat if you have one, as well as a friend or two. This is a good opportunity to do something good for your mind, body and spirit, as well as simply having a good time.

January Folsom Room Book Display

This month’s Library Book Table Display features Poems, Prayers, and Essays. If you’ve made a goal to read more in ’26, books like these are a great way to get started. You’ll find selections on the table such as The House Blend by our own Bill Deans and Prayers for Peace by former pastor Reverend John Gardner. We’re also highlighting The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran and When I Was a Child I Read Books by Marilynne Robinson. There are more books in this spirit on the display, and even more waiting for you in the Louise Folsom Memorial Library, just off the Folsom Room.

Upcoming Events

This is a fun educational and important annual advocacy event at the Indiana Statehouse that features a speaker panel, tables of environmental and energy groups (including SUN), a delicious free lunch, and an opportunity to meet with your state legislators to advocate for renewable energy access in our state! Free bus transportation from Fort Wayne to Indy and back is provided!

Our annual business meeting where we approve the 2026 budget will take place after worship on January 25 in the Folsom Room. The Youth Group will be providing lunch. Please plan on staying for this important meeting. Agenda items and links to documents will be forthcoming soon!

General Announcements

Adult Nursery Volunteers Needed

Plymouth is looking for a few more adult volunteers to assist in the nursery on Sunday mornings, starting in the new year. Volunteers are scheduled to assist no more than once a month and are needed during the Sunday morning worship hour. If you would like to help out, please see Rev. Ofner-Seals or email her at smo@plymouthfw.org.

Safety Attendants

The Safety Committee is looking for a few good folks to serve as Safety attendants periodically during worship services. An attendant will greet late comers in the Narthex during worship, be responsible for communicating with the office in the event of a medical emergency or natural disaster, aid in fire and tornado drills, and more. If you would like to assist in this endeavor, please sign up at the following link.

Open Prayer in the Sanctuary
