Sunday, January 18 - Education Hour Continues: Anti-Racism Stories

Our intergenerational series on anti-racism stories continues this Sunday, and will take place upstairs in Room 204. We hope both kids and adults of all ages will join us for this intergenerational series! Note: there will be no Zoom option given the location.

Sunday, January 18 - Plymouth Music Series: We Are the Dream

Pilgrim Baptist Church is hosting the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. interfaith service where we remember his legacy with them in their sanctuary this Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm. Plymouth, Pilgrim, Heartland Sings, and other congregations and organizations will blend word and song, prayers and praise, as we remember the justice movement and its past leaders. There will also be a time for us to recommit ourselves to the ongoing work of justice and love. Following worship we can meet and greet one another over refreshments and information tables during the reception.

We encourage you to join us in this inspiring gathering.

You will find Pilgrim Baptist Church at 1331 Gay St., Fort Wayne, IN 46803.

Sunday, January 18 - Youth Group Board Game Sunday

This Sunday is Board Game Sunday for the youth group! We'll gather after church from 11:30 to 1:30pm in the Youth Center for lunch and a little Board Game fun. We have a great collection of games, but if you have a favorite, please bring it!

Tuesday, January 20 - Women's Book Group

The next meeting of the Women's Book Group will be Tuesday, January 20 at 11:30 am. We will be meeting to choose our books for the year, so be thinking about titles that you think might be good for the group to read together.

The Women's Book Group meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the Amistad Room. All self-identifying women are welcome to join the discussion on a drop-in basis or longer term.

Tuesday, January 20 - Renewable Energy Day

You are invited to participate in Renewable Energy Day on Tuesday, January 20. This is a fun educational and important annual advocacy event at the Indiana Statehouse that features a speaker panel, tables of environmental and energy groups (including SUN), a delicious free lunch, and an opportunity to meet with your state legislators to advocate for renewable energy access in our state! Free bus transportation from Fort Wayne to Indy and back is provided!

Wednesday, January 21 - Wednesday Night Live

Wednesday Night Live programming continues this Wednesday. At 5:00 pm there will be adult choir rehearsal. At 5:15 pm there will be Bible Study with Rev. Timothy, followed by dinner at 6:00 pm. Handbells will meet at 6:30 pm. All activities are open to anyone in the church, regardless of membership status. Come for activities or just come for dinner and fellowship! The suggested cost for dinner is $10 per person, though no one will be turned away due to the inability to pay. If you plan to come for dinner, please sign up in the Folsom Room in advance so our caterer knows how much food to prepare. Hope to see you there!

The passcode to join Bible Study on Zoom is 773232.

Upcoming Events

Sunday, January 25 - Annual Business Meeting

Our annual business meeting where we approve the 2026 budget will take place after worship on January 25 in the Folsom Room. The Youth Group will be providing lunch. Please plan on staying for this important meeting. The meeting agenda, June congregational meeting minutes, October election meeting minutes, and 2025 Annual Report can be found at the links below*.

Sunday, January 25 - Casa d'Plymouth

Sunday, January 25 is our annual Casa d'Plymouth, aka Spaghetti & Meatball Fundraiser! This is the youth group's big fundraiser for the year! Any profit after the cost of supplies, will help pay for the youth trip to the UCC Spring Camp at Merom Camp, in southern Indiana at the end of April. Those dates are April 24, 25 and 26. More details to come soon, as registrations will be required in advance.

General Announcements

January Folsom Room Book Display

This month’s Library Book Table Display features Poems, Prayers, and Essays. If you’ve made a goal to read more in ’26, books like these are a great way to get started. You’ll find selections on the table such as Plain Prayers for a Complicated World, by Avery Brooke; Beginning to Pray, by Anthony Bloom; The Precious Present, by Spencer Johnson; and The House Blend, by our own Bill Deans. There are more books of this nature on display and even more waiting for you in the Louise Folsom Memorial Library, just off the Folsom Room.

Adult Nursery Volunteers Needed

Plymouth is looking for a few more adult volunteers to assist in the nursery on Sunday mornings, starting in the new year. Volunteers are scheduled to assist no more than once a month and are needed during the Sunday morning worship hour. If you would like to help out, please see Rev. Ofner-Seals or email her at smo@plymouthfw.org.

Safety Attendants

The Safety Committee is looking for a few good folks to serve as Safety attendants periodically during worship services. An attendant will greet late comers in the Narthex during worship, be responsible for communicating with the office in the event of a medical emergency or natural disaster, aid in fire and tornado drills, and more. If you would like to assist in this endeavor, please sign up at the following link.

Open Prayer in the Sanctuary

For a time of personal prayer, the sanctuary will be available Tuesday through Thursday during office hours. Please enter through the Berry Street office entrance and check in with our receptionist. Contact Jake Slone at (260) 423-9424 or jss@plymouthfw.org with any questions.
