Sunday, January 25 - Service and Annual Business Meeting - Livestream Only

In consideration of the incoming winter storm and plunging temperatures, it has been determined that Sunday's service will be livestream-only (no in-person).

We will still plan to start service at 10 am as usual, via our YouTube channel at the link below.

The Annual Business Meeting will follow at 11:15 am on Zoom. You can join the meeting and find relevant documents* at the links below. There is no passcode required for the meeting.

Those unable to join by video can call 1-253-215-8782, then enter the code 816-5886-5845#, then # when asked for the password.

The youth's Casa d'Plymouth lunch fundraiser will be rescheduled as well, so we will look forward to that soon!

Keep an eye out for further updates on Sunday morning, and we will plan to still join together online despite the northern Indiana winter.

*The Annual Report is a large file, and may take some time to download. If you're having trouble downloading it, you can also view it on the church website here. A limited number of paper copies are also available in the church office.

Wednesday, January 28 - Wednesday Night Live

Wednesday Night Live programming continues this Wednesday. At 5:00 pm there will be adult choir rehearsal. At 5:15 pm there will be Bible Study with Rev. Timothy, followed by dinner at 6:00 pm. Handbells will meet at 6:30 pm. All activities are open to anyone in the church, regardless of membership status. Come for activities or just come for dinner and fellowship! The suggested cost for dinner is $10 per person, though no one will be turned away due to the inability to pay. If you plan to come for dinner, please sign up in the Folsom Room in advance so our caterer knows how much food to prepare. Hope to see you there!

The passcode to join Bible Study on Zoom is 773232.

Thursday, January 29 - ICMEP: The US Church & Palestine Solidarity

The wider US church has been largely silent in supporting their sisters and brothers in Palestine. However, some mainline denominations have groups that advocate solidarity with Palestine. Two of the most active churches are the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the United Church of Christ.

Rev. Sara Ofner-Seals is Co-Chair of the United Church of Christ Movement for Palestinian Solidarity; she traveled with ICMEP Director Michael Spath to Palestine last May; and Rev. Marietta Macy is Co-Moderator of the Palestine Justice Network of the PCUSA; she just returned from Palestine.

At Plymouth Church on Thursday, January 29 at 6:30 pm, both will talk about their experiences, what they witnessed, what their churches are doing, and how all people of faith and conscience can stand for justice in this moment.

Free, open to the public. The program will also be livestreamed at the ICMEP YouTube channel. A recording of the program will be available a few days after the event.

Upcoming Events

February 18 - April 1 - Lenten Book Study

This year's book study is How to be an Antiracist, by Ibram X Kindi. The book is available through Amazon or Barnes and Noble in either print, digital, or audible format. You can also check out the hardcover edition from the church's Louise Folsom Memorial Library. This study, led by Reverend Timothy, starts February 18 and concludes April 1, meeting every Wednesday at 5:15 pm in the chapel.

General Announcements

Adult Nursery Volunteers Needed

Plymouth is looking for a few more adult volunteers to assist in the nursery on Sunday mornings, starting in the new year. Volunteers are scheduled to assist no more than once a month and are needed during the Sunday morning worship hour. If you would like to help out, please see Rev. Ofner-Seals or email her at smo@plymouthfw.org.

Safety Attendants

The Safety Committee is looking for a few good folks to serve as Safety attendants periodically during worship services. An attendant will greet late comers in the Narthex during worship, be responsible for communicating with the office in the event of a medical emergency or natural disaster, aid in fire and tornado drills, and more. If you would like to assist in this endeavor, please sign up at the following link.

Open Prayer in the Sanctuary

For a time of personal prayer, the sanctuary will be available Tuesday through Thursday during office hours. Please enter through the Berry Street office entrance and check in with our receptionist. Contact Jake Slone at (260) 423-9424 or jss@plymouthfw.org with any questions.
