| | Sunday, March 15 - Chapel Class on Criminalizing Homelessness | | |
| | |
Recently, the Indiana General Assembly passed a law that would make it illegal for unhoused people to camp or sleep outside in public places. This law effectively criminalizes being homeless, as many individuals have nowhere else to go. On Sunday, March 15, Mary Ann Mings, who runs the homeless day shelter out of InAsMuch Ministries, will join us for a discussion about what this law really means, what it does, and how we can best help our unhoused neighbors at this time.
Chapel Class is open to all adults at 9:00 am every Sunday, in person or on zoom. The password for zoom is 247302.
| | | | Sunday, March 15 - Lenten Reflection from the Green Team | | |
|
During Lent, the Green Team asks that we look at the land, water, and nature that surround us, and to learn not only the history, but our responsibility in honoring and caring for it.
Indiana is home to a rich mix of native wildlife thanks to our forests, wetlands, prairies,
and rivers.
Some of the mammals include the white-tailed deer, American black bear, eastern cottontail rabbit, gray and fox squirrels, raccoon, Virginia opossum, red and gray fox, coyote, American beaver, river otter, and bobcat.
Native birds include the northern cardinal, bald eagle, red-tailed hawk, great blue heron, sandhill crane, wild turkey, eastern bluebird, pileated woodpecker, and mallard duck.
Reptiles include the eastern box turtle, common snapping turtle, garter snake, eastern
fox snake, northern copperhead, and timber rattlesnake.
Amphibians include the American bullfrog, spring peeper, eastern newt, and spotted
salamander.
Fish include the largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, walleye, and northern pike.
And lastly, our insects and pollinators include the monarch butterfly, eastern tiger swallowtail, bumblebees, and fireflies.
WE GIVE THANKS TO ALL CREATURES, AND COMMIT TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH THEM.
| | | | Sunday, March 15 - Special Offering: One Great Hour of Sharing | | |
| | |
Imagine the difference we can make when we join together with other people of faith who are giving to the same cause. For over 75 years, One Great Hour of Sharing has been allowing congregations to share out of their abundance with those who need assistance. You will have the opportunity to join multiple denominations and Church World Service to do just that as Plymouth Church participates in the One Great Hour of Sharing Special Offering on Sunday, March 15.
Your support to this annual focus on mission enables our church and our ecumenical partners to make a difference in lives and communities around the world. One Great Hour of Sharing understands the needs -- immediate and long-term -- and are there when the needs are most pressing. By giving generously, you bring life forth in desolate places. By giving generously, you provide spaces for others to share their expertise and sustainable approaches to farming. By giving generously, you share hope today, tomorrow, and well into the future. You can make donations on Sunday, or via the link below, selecting "One Great Hour of Sharing" from the drop down menu.

Parking is available at Towles Intermediate School (420 E. Paulding Rd) or at Tillman Park Trailhead (600 E. Tillman Rd). A Green Team member will be waiting at each parking location. Trash bags, gloves, and pick-up sticks will be provided. Bring a grabber if you have one!

The concert is part of the Plymouth Music Series, and is free and open to the public. It starts at 2 pm in the Plymouth Church Sanctuary. |
| | | Tuesday, March 24 - Singing Resistance Gathering | | |
| | |
Join fellow Fort Wayne residents for an evening of singing resistance! We will gather for a simple supper and an evening of singing together from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, March 24 at Plymouth Church. A sign-up sheet is located in the Folsom Room.
Singing Resistance is building a mass movement of singers to protect and care for our communities in the face of rising authoritarianism. We welcome everyone into the movement for collective liberation. We are fighting for a future in which all people - Black, Brown, Indigenous, immigrant, trans, queer, disabled, poor - and the Earth are safe and sovereign. Through song, we can refuse to obey what authoritarianism wants us to do - get small, numb out, and forget. Instead, we will mobilize our communities in public, we will feel, and we will tell the truth of the violence and of the resistance.

| | | Saturday, April 4 - Memorial Service for Rick Stoerker | | |

Hess Peace Studies Scholarship Fund. |
| | | Easter Flower Order Form 2026 | | |
| | If you'd like to order flowers for Easter, the form is available at the link below. Lilies and dwarf yellow daffodils can be ordered for $11. The flowers will be delivered to the church, and may be taken home after Easter service on Sunday, April 5. The deadline for orders will be midnight, Palm Sunday, March 29. Flowers may be purchased on their own, or dedicated in memory, or in celebration. Options for dedications are included in the form. | | | | Pride at Plymouth Task Force Volunteers | | |
| | Pride at Plymouth will be here in just a few short months. The Evangelism and Marketing Board is recruiting volunteers for a Pride Task Force that will start in March to plan and implement this June event. You do not need to be a church member to join the task force. Anyone is welcome who wants to be part of creating a day that honors our open and affirming covenant. To volunteer or to get more information contact Rev. Sara (smo@plymouthfw.org) or Vicky Pogue (vlpogue@gmail.com). | | | | Book Recommendations Welcomed! | | |
| | Do you have a book you’d love to see on the shelves of our church library? We welcome your suggestions! Simply click the link below to recommend a title for the Louise Folsom Memorial Library to consider adding to its collection. You’ll be asked to provide the book’s title and author, and you’re invited to include a brief comment sharing why you think it would be a meaningful addition. Help us continue building a library that inspires, informs, and enriches our entire church community. | | | |
As we journey through the season of Lent, we invite you to visit the church library’s book table featuring titles that reflect on themes of reflection, repentance, justice, and renewal. These books offer thoughtful perspectives to accompany your Lenten practice and deepen your spiritual journey. We hope you will find something that encourages reflection during this sacred season. Books there include: Henri's Mantle: 100 Meditations on Nouwen's Legacy; Sitting Still: an Encounter with Christian Zen, by Patricia Hart Clifford; Church of the Wild, by Victoria Loorz; and Out of Solitude by Henri J.M. Nouwen. These and other books are available for you to check out. | | | | Adult Nursery Volunteers Needed
Plymouth is looking for a few more adult volunteers to assist in the nursery on Sunday mornings, starting in the new year. Volunteers are scheduled to assist no more than once a month and are needed during the Sunday morning worship hour. If you would like to help out, please see Rev. Ofner-Seals or email her at smo@plymouthfw.org.
The Safety Committee is looking for a few good folks to serve as Safety attendants periodically during worship services. An attendant will greet late comers in the Narthex during worship, be responsible for communicating with the office in the event of a medical emergency or natural disaster, aid in fire and tornado drills, and more. If you would like to assist in this endeavor, please sign up at the following link. | | | | Open Prayer in the Sanctuary
For a time of personal prayer, the sanctuary will be available Tuesday through Thursday during office hours. Please enter through the Berry Street office entrance and check in with our receptionist. Contact Jake Slone at (260) 423-9424 or jss@plymouthfw.org with any questions.
