| | |
Join us for a three-week series starting Sunday, November 2 as Rev. Murphy leads us in an exploration of what’s called Christology. This is thinking about Christ. Over the course of three weeks, we will discuss Jesus’ humanity and divinity, how the church has spoken about this, what the New Testament has to say about Jesus, and how we today can think about what it means for Jesus to be the Christ.
Chapel Class is open to all adults at 9:00 am every Sunday, in person or on zoom. The password for zoom is 247302.
| | | | Sunday, November 2 - Community Prayer Vigil | | |

The vigil will be held from 2-4 pm on Sunday, November 2nd, at the Allen County Courthouse. It will be a time to gather with fellow advocates for prayer, reflection, and solidarity with our immigrant neighbors. All are welcome! | | | | Monday, November 3 - Data Center Town Hall

| | |
Indiana Center for Middle East Peace welcomes former Congresswoman Cori Bush to Fort Wayne for Gala 2025.
Cori Bush is a politician, nurse, minister, and advocate for racial justice who served as US representative for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District from 2021-2025. She was a member of “The Squad” in the House, along with other women of color – Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (NY), Rashida Tlaib (MI), Ilhan Omar (MN), Ayanna Pressley (MA). She was one of the first representatives to call for a Ceasefire after October 7, 2023, and is an ardent supporter of Palestinian political and human rights.
The Gala is ICMEP's major annual fundraising event and helps support programs throughout the year. The Gala includes a reception for benefactors with Cori on Saturday night, keynote speeches from she and Adam Shapiro on Sunday, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction. Registration and more information can be found at the link below.

A perfect way to begin your holiday season, join us for "The Gift of the Magi", a heartfelt celebration of love, generosity, and the true spirit of Christmas.
Directed by Maestro Robert Nance and featuring incredible singers from Heartland Sings, this cherished American chamber opera captures the humor, tenderness, and timeless beauty of selfless devotion.
| | | | Tuesday, November 18 - Women's Book Study: The Tobacco Wives | | |
| | |
The book choice for Plymouth's Women's Book Study's last meeting of 2025 is The Tobacco Wives by Adele Myers. The story follows a young seamstress in a North Carolina tobacco town of the 1940's. As she sews for the finest women there, she is challenged by finding out what tobacco is doing to the community.
Our discussion will take place Tuesday, November 18 at 11:15 am in the Amistad Room - note the new time! Any self-identifying woman is welcome to join us on a drop-in basis or for a longer time.
| | | | Saturday, November 22 - Non-Cooperation Training | | |
| | |
Plymouth Church will host a collective non-cooperation training on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 10 am-4 pm. The training will be led by members of the Freedom Trainers Collective-- a loose network of trainers teaching folks the tools of collective noncompliance and mass noncooperation based on the tactics of non-violence. Lunch will be provided.
To RSVP for the training, please email Rev. Sara Ofner-Seals at smo@plymouthfw.org. The cost of the training is $20 to offset the cost of the training and lunch. Financial assistance is available. Checks can be made out to Plymouth Congregational Church, with 'Peace and Justice' in the memo line. You can also pay online at www.plymouthfw.org and be sure to select 'Peace and Justice' from the drop-down menu on the donation page.
| | | | Friday, December 5 - City of Churches Tour | | |
| | We are once again participating in Fort Wayne's City of Churches Tour. We are looking for 2-3 volunteers to help welcome guests as they come to view the sanctuary. Volunteer shifts are from 4-6 pm and 6-8 pm. If you would like to volunteer, please email Rev. Ofner-Seals at smo@plymouthfw.org. | | | | Tuesday, December 9 - Make the Yuletide Gay | | |
| | |
It's your newest holiday tradition! Don your gay apparel and cozy up next to three award-winning songwriters for a night of holiday classics, original music, storytelling, comfort, and joy on Tuesday, December 9, 7 pm at Plymouth. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
2025 International Folk Music Artist of the Year award winner Crys Matthews is joined by genre-defying artist/activist Heather Mae and shame-slaying singer-songwriter drag queen Flamy Grant for a winter show like no other. We're making merry and celebrating the resilience of the LGBTQ+ community in a time when so many are trying to silence their voices. Don't miss this night of feel-good, uplifting, soul-filling music as we Make the Yuletide Gay.
Tickets are $12.50 and can be purchased at the link below, or at the door. Free tickets will be made available for congregation members and friends, please email Rev. Sara Ofner-Seals at smo@plymouthfw.org if needed.
| | | | Poinsettia Orders Available | | |
| | Poinsettia orders are now available for the Christmas season. Poinsettas will be delivered to the church and can be picked up after Christmas Eve service. The flowers can be ordered on their own, or dedicated "In Honor," "In Memory," or "In Celebration." You can find more information and the order form at the link below. |
| | | Parking Lot Food Pantry Donations | | |
| | As the government shutdown continues and SNAP benefits run out for many Fort Wayne residents, we encourage folks to donate to our parking lot food pantry. Items must be non-perishable, and we recommend that canned goods have a pop-off tab for those who are unhoused. Recommended items are peanut butter, canned tuna or beans (again, with a pop-off tab is best), canned soup, cooking oil, rice and pasta. Toiletry items are also popular. Items can be placed directly into the pantry at any time. | | | |
The Safety Committee is looking for a few good folks to serve as Safety attendants periodically during worship services. An attendant will greet late comers in the Narthex during worship, be responsible for communicating with the office in the event of a medical emergency or natural disaster, aid in fire and tornado drills, and more. If you would like to assist in this endeavor, please sign up at the following link. | | | | Open Prayer in the Sanctuary
For a time of personal prayer, the sanctuary will be available Tuesday through Thursday during office hours. Please enter through the Berry Street office entrance and check in with our receptionist. Contact Jake Slone at (260) 423-9424 or jss@plymouthfw.org with any questions.
