Sunday, December 19: Christmas Special Offering
On Sunday, December 19, we will collect a special offering for Crossroad Child & Family Services. Crossroad does incredible work for children struggling with emotional and behavioral health in our region, providing a wide range of residential and outpatient services, home-based casework and therapy, alternative education, and opportunities for recreation and nurturing a spiritual life. As we celebrate the season, anticipating God-with-us made real in the birth of a child, it is fitting that we offer support to Crossroad, which works to ensure all children experience hope, peace, joy, and love.

If you contribute with a check, please be sure to write it out to Plymouth Church and write “Crossroad” on the memo line. You may also contribute online by clicking the "Donate" button below. On this page, you will see a spot to enter an amount for the "Crossroad Christmas Offering."
Sunday, December 19: Chapel Classes
  • December 19 - Terry Dougherty, former Peace Corp volunteer in Afghanistan, a time in his young life which in many ways has shaped the rest of his life. He will help inform and guide our plans to be a welcoming space for Afghan Refugees resettling in Fort Wayne

Please note there will be no Chapel Class on Sunday, December 26.
Limited Wednesday Night Live Programming: December 22
Wednesday Night Live will have limited programming next week with only musical groups meeting. However, there will be no Bible study, dinner, or after-dinner small group. There will be no WNL on the 29th in lieu of the Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival service that evening.
Friday, December 24: Christmas Eve Services at 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm
Please join us for services of celebration and anticipation on Christmas Eve night at either 4:00 pm or 10:00 pm. The 4:00 pm service will be a family-friendly service featuring carols, communion, and a special time for children, and the 10:00 pm service will be a service of lessons and carols by candlelight. All are welcome as we celebrate the coming of God’s light into the world.

General Announcements
Boar's Head is Back!
There have been some changes made in the Boar's Head services this year to address health and safety precautions so that it can be produced. There will be three services offered - one each night starting at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 28, Wednesday, December 29, and Thursday, December 30. Everyone involved in the Festival, including cast, choirs, crews, orchestra, and audience members must be able to prove they have been vaccinated. The only exception is children under the age of 5 who are not eligible for vaccination. The audience attendees will also be required to wear masks.

Four tickets are available to every Plymouth Church member’s household as well as the households in the groups mentioned above. Tickets will be distributed in the Folsom Room before and after service on Sunday, December 19, and Sunday, December 26, if tickets are still available. There is no public box office this year, and we never “sell” tickets.

The size of the audience has also been reduced; therefore, it is important to take only those tickets you know you will use and obtain them as soon as you can. Donations will still be gladly accepted as the continuation of the annual Festival is based on patron support. Tickets will continue to be distributed until we run out, so get your tickets in the Folsom Room before and after church the next two Sundays.

Thank you for your support. Hope to see you at the Boar's Head Festival this year!
Volunteers Needed for Receptionist Desk
Plymouth is need of volunteers to cover the receptionist desk during staff meetings on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. We have a particular need for December 28 and the months of January and February. Anyone interested in volunteering should either see Jake in the office, or email him at [email protected]. Thank you.
Sunday School During Advent
As we move towards the conclusion of Advent, this is a reminder that we have several resources & classes to help your family celebrate this season of hope and preparation.

ADVENT MAILINGS that have gone out include suggestions & supplies for observing Advent at home, and reminders of events here at church.

ADVENT JOURNALING DEVOTIONALS are available for free in the Folsom Room. These journals include weekly readings, images to color, and spaces for guided journaling. They are suitable for adults and youth, please take a copy!

Our PRESCHOOL & ELEMENTARY CLASS is working through the Christmas story. We will hear of the prophets’ hopes, Mary & Joseph’s journey, the shepherds’ joy and the wise ones’ gifts. Each week we hear a story and have time for the students to reflect through play and art.

The YOUTH CLASS will be working through the advent journaling devotionals during their Sunday school time. Middle and high schoolers are welcome to join us to color, doodle and discuss.

Sunday school classes run from 9:00 am to 9:50 am for this final Sunday of Advent. New students are always welcome to join us in the classrooms upstairs. There is no Sunday school on December 26 or January 2.
