Sunday, August 14: Poplar Village Gardens Tour and Work Day
Plymouth’s families with kids are gathering once a month this summer to socialize, serve, and explore our community! If there are babies, kids, teens, or graduates in your home, please join us!
Our final gathering of the summer is at the Poplar Village Gardens on Sunday, August 14, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. We’ll tour this urban garden, learn about the ways they are bringing green space and food to their neighborhood, and help harvest veggies to distribute to local food pantries.
Poplar Village Gardens are located near Broadway, just short of Georges Market. Parking is available in the nearby neighborhood, around the corner of Miner and Walnut streets.

Tuesday, August 16: Women's Book Study
Picking Cotton has been chosen for the next Plymouth's Women's Book Study. The group invites any reader who self-identifies as a woman to join us in the Amistad Room on Tuesday, August 16 at 12:00 pm. Here's a review of it:
"Jennifer Thompson was raped at knifepoint by a man who broke into her apartment while she slept. She was able to escape, and eventually positively identified Ronald Cotton as her attacker. Ronald insisted that she was mistaken-- but Jennifer's positive identification was the compelling evidence that put him behind bars.
After eleven years, Ronald was allowed to take a DNA test that proved his innocence. He was released, after serving more than a decade in prison for a crime he never committed. Two years later, Jennifer and Ronald met face to face-- and forged an unlikely friendship that changed both of their lives."

Sunday, August 21: Annual Church Potluck Picnic
Congregational Life Board invites you to our Annual Summer Church Picnic on Sunday, August 21 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Rockhill Park Pavilion at 1500 Catalpa St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
Congregational Life will SUPPLY: pulled pork and hot dog sandwiches with BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard & relish. Lemonade and water, & minimal paper tableware & cups for those who forget their own.
PLEASE BRING:
- A side dish or dessert to share
- Your own reusable tableware & cups
- A folding chair
This nearby open air Pavilion only has 4 tables available which is why we ask everyone to bring their own chair, and in keeping with our earthwise commitment to use reusable tableware and cups. We hope to see y'all there!
* In case of rain, this event will be held at Plymouth in the Folsom Room.
** The entrance to Rockhill Park is best accessed by using, if from church, W. Jefferson to Freeman St (stoplight) to left onto Taylor St to left onto Catalpa St. The entrance directly from W. Jefferson onto Catalpa St is a one way exit from Catalpa St, and is too dangerous with the traffic configuration.

COVID-19 Protocols: Masking Strongly Encouraged
While masks remain optional in worship, we strongly encourage wearing them whenever possible. A high-quality mask provides good protection against infection even if others around you are not wearing one. We will continue to offer livestreamed and recorded worship services if you find yourself at risk of being around groups or otherwise unable to attend services in person.
