General Announcements
Join Us For the Jubilee
For some, hearing the word “evangelism” immediately calls to mind memories of being cajoled, shamed, or otherwise lectured by scripture-wielding people desperate to hear you say the magic words, “I accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.” Certainly discussing scripture with interested parties is a wonderful way to share the good news of Christ. But why just tell when you can show? As those who would follow the Jesus way, we are called to be the ones who bring good news to the poor, liberation to the oppressed, and the kingdom of God to earth as in heaven. It is in light of this call that the Evangelism & Marketing Board requested funds from the 2020 budget surplus to seed a fundraising campaign to eradicate the burden of medical debt that crushes so many of our neighbors.

In the expectation that the blessing of our abundance can do good work in the world by liberating those shackled with unpayable debts, E&M is excited to invite you to participate in our fundraiser, operating through RIP Medical Debt! The campaign has officially begun and will run through September 26. Every dollar you donate will be used to purchase one hundred dollars in medical debt ($1 = $100!). Please give what you can and rejoice as it multiplies one hundred times. You have the power to be the trumpet of liberty, bringing the good message to your neighbors that they are free, their debt forgiven.

Our fundraising goal is $20,000 – or $2,000,000 in medical debt relief – but if we end up raising more than that it will be a joy. Please feel free to share the link with your friends and family – the more the merrier! Click the button below to visit our fundraising campaign page. There is also a link on our “Contribute” page at plymouthfw.org. Scroll down and click on “Campaign”. Information can also be found on Facebook. Thank you!
Christian Education Recap and Thank You
Christian Education has Zoomed through a wonderful year of programming outdoor adventures. Kids and families gathered at Sweeney Park, Lindenwood Nature Preserve, and our own church parking lot throughout the year! Katie Watson has led remarkable teaching and hands-on learning opportunities with all of our children. Using Godly Play –
a curriculum of spiritual practices helping children experience God’s very real presence in their lives. She prepared and delivered many boxes and packets of materials to each child’s home. We owe enormous thanks as well, to so many adults who created materials, crafted items, and contributed their artistic skills in helping bring these lessons to life for our kids – THANK YOU!
Peace & Justice Survey
The Peace and Justice Committee invites you to take a simple survey to help us better understand the justice activities of members and how to help connect members with similar commitments. It takes only a couple minutes to do. Thank you!
