Cradle of Liberty Annual Campaign
"Invest in Character"
The true cost of Scouting is much greater than what local dues or event and camping fees cover. Yearly registration fees directly support the National Council of the BSA and help provide program development and research, literature and other resources. The Annual Campaign gives individuals and businesses the opportunity to support Scouting at the local level by contributing to the Cradle of Liberty Council at a level of their own choosing according to their interest and ability to give. Your investment stays right here in Philadelphia, Delaware and Montgomery Counties.
For questions about the Campaign or to ask the District to make a presentation to your Unit, contact our Campaign Chair, Dave Bryan.

Order of the Arrow Elections
The Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s National Honor Society. Each local BSA council has their own group of the Order of the Arrow called a lodge. Our lodge, Unami Lodge, One is the first lodge, founded in 1915. Every year, the Order of the Arrow welcomes new members from Scouts BSA troops, Venturing crews, and Sea Scout ships, both male and female participants alike. Adults currently registered in Scouting on the unit, district, or council level can join as well.
Elections for 2022 are happening now. To schedule an election for your Unit, please reach out to the District's representatives at constellation@unamilodge.org.

First Aid Meet: March 5
Registration is open for the District's annual First Aid Meet. Patrols representing Troops and Crews throughout the District can challenge the Scout's abilities to perform first aid in simulated real-life situations. The patrols will compete in practical first aid problems, working together to plan and perform hands-on first aid skills.
The event will be on Saturday, March 5 from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon at St. Anastasia Church in Newtown Square. Registration is still open, using the Council's new calendar and registration system (you will need to registration if this is your first time using it). Every year we have dozens of Patrols compete to get their name on the prestigious Pennypacker Trophy (our very own version of the Stanley Cup); come join us and continue the tradition!
Questions? Contact the District's Activities Chair, Scott Kleeman.

Fun Fact to Know
The Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1910 by American W.D. Boyce. According to legend, Boyce was lost on a foggy street in London when an unknown Scout helped him by guiding him back to his hotel. When the boy refused a tip, explaining that he was only doing his duty as a Scout, Boyce was inspired to bring the teachings of the British Boy Scout Association back to the U.S.
