Senior Spotlight: Alexandra Tripari
An Article by Staff Member Julie Healey
Alexandra Tripari is an exemplary student who is hardworking, friendly, and determined to succeed. Alexandra has been interested in pursuing a career in the health field and is bringing her dreams to fruition through the Health Sciences Program at SST. She plans on continuing this career path by commuting to a local community college and then on to receive her Registered Nurse License through a local bachelor’s program. Of course, she will be driving in style to college in her 2012 Audi A4 Quattro that she worked many hours at multiple jobs to buy..

Throughout her high school career she has managed to keep her grades up and study hard to maintain good grades. She is even able to pursue her passion of MMA style martial arts both by learning and teaching. She has been a teacher to young children at Spero’s Martial Arts in Plaistow for 5 years and has a strong dedication to the martial arts community.

In her spare time, Alexandra likes to hang out with friends and her beagle puppy Cody. She has a passion for animals and nature and spends a great deal of time outdoors on trails, nature walks, or just sitting around the fire. Her teachers will fondly remember her “spitfire” personality and ability to tell it like it is. We all know that Alexandra will be a rising and shining star in her future and are anxious to see how her life after high school unfolds.

Remote Student Picture Day Information
Sanborn Regional High School will hold its school picture day for remote students on December 2, from 12-3PM.

Pictures are optional, but strongly encouraged. To accommodate remote students, an appointment sign-up link has been set up to limit the number of students in the building. In-person students will not be in the building (it is an early release day). All who enter will be screened and asked to keep their mask on (until it is time for the photo to be taken).

Please click the button below to sign up for an appointment for remote student pictures on 12/2. Please arrive a few minutes early to your appointment and use the high school main entrance doors.

Ordering information will be made available closer to the picture date.
Campus Fire Suppression System Under Repair
Last week, the school district discovered a short circuit in the fire suppression system for the middle and high school campus. The district is working to identify the flaw in the system. Meanwhile, a fire watch supervision has been set up. Each school day, a member of the Kingston Fire Department is on the campus when school is in session. We do not yet have a repair timeline.

Nurses To Run Giving Tree For Families in Need
With Halloween  behind us the Holidays are quickly heading our way requiring much preparation.
This year Sanborn School District will be hosting a giving tree . All children living in the household of those who choose to participate are eligible to receive gifts through the giving tree. If your family is in need this year and you are interested in receiving gifts please let us know the name, age, gender and a few gift requests for each child living in your home. The names of those participating are completely confidential.

Each gift request should follow the guidelines of something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read. We request a $25 limit per gift. You can e-mail your list to the school nurse, send a list into the nurse’s office via a sealed envelope with your student or call us with your list. The nurses across the district are organizing this together this year so if you have students in multiple buildings you can send your list with all of your children to any one of us.

Please feel free to call or email with any questions. We need to have all gift requests in by Nov 23rd. For planning purposes, if you want to receive gifts from the giving tree we would appreciate a quick note as soon as possible just to let us know so we can keep an eye out for incoming lists.

If you want to purchase gifts for the families within our community that have needs this year through the giving tree watch your e-mail the first week of Dec as we will be sending out a district wide Sign up Genius.

Thanks,

Winter Athletic Update
As you may have seen or heard, the School Board took action on Winter sports this past week. You will find some important information on our winter sports by following this link:
Parents: Please note the information regarding physical exams, as this has changed for this year. Also note that It is important to sign your kids up using our online system, even if you're not 100% sure if they will play, or even if their sport isn't starting right now. This is so we have a handle on our participation levels.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

Girls Basketball Program Update
Hey Sanborn Girls, Players and Fans,

If you have not heard, Sanborn Girls Basketball is a go at the High School and Middle School Level. There will obviously be some differences this year but our coaching staff is looking forward to getting back out on the court and working with our amazing student athletes. There are a couple major things to know going into the season. We are starting skills this Monday and the schedule can be found on our TEAMSNAP. You can sign up to get notifications by signing up to tryout on the link provided below. Also on that link is a link to our team store for Sanborn Gear which closes on 11/15 to get in for Christmas. The last links on there send you to the health forms update which all Sanborn Athletes need by December 14th. They also need a current physical that happened after June 15th, 2020. There is also a link to a letter from our AD Bob Dawson outlining what the season could look like (for right now anyway). If you have any questions, you can e-mail Coach Gray at bgray@sau17,net.

PTO Clothing & Shoe Donation Bins
When you drop your unwanted clothing and shoes off in these bins, the SRHS PTO gets paid based on the weight of the clothing! This is a really easy way to help our school. All PTO proceeds go directly back to programming and scholarships that directly benefit our students. NOTE: Shoes must go in a separate bin.

Did you know? From April of 2015 - May 2017, this fundraiser has helped us raise nearly $2400.00 for the PTO. Help us double that number by sharing this opportunity with your friends, your family, and your neighbors!
