Thanks to an anonymous generous donor, The Emanuel Synagogue has now installed several new “Blue Box” Police Emergency Panic buttons that are part of the “Mutualink” emergency response system.
Similar to the more familiar Fire Pull Boxes, these new Police Emergency buttons are only to be used in the event of a SERIOUS Police Emergency.
Within seconds of a panic button press, the West Hartford Police Dispatch Center will receive an alert, a floor plan of our facility and access to our video surveillance cameras and 2-way radios, providing law enforcement and first responders more detailed, real-time information.
To use: lift the plastic shield (an audible warning alarm will sound) and push the red PUSH button.
To address privacy concerns, the cameras are only accessible to the West Hartford Police Department when (and only when) a panic button has been pressed.
Please contact Kobi Benita or a member of the Emanuel Security Committee with any questions.
