We have our Halloween Pawty coming up next week, and we can't wait to see how the pup painted pumpkins turn out! We hope you will add them to your annual fall decor rotation! The pumpkins are really cute!

We have loved meeting the newly adopted Second City rescues that are enjoying a free month of training! I hope they make it to my Level 3 class because we have a lot of fun working on distractions and more advanced commands.

Only one more Farmers Market at the Dole this weekend! You can will see Matt for extended hours at the Pet Wants Arlington Heights store on Saturdays from 10am-4pm now until he takes a little break to get his second rotator cuff surgery this year 11/2. We will still be filling online orders, but the store will be closed from 11/3-6!

Policy Updates

Dog Walking and Pet Sitting

We have always had this cancellation policy in place, but we have been giving everyone exceptions. We wanted to make sure you received notice before we returned to our original policy. To improve our employee retention and morale, we will be charging for all cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance. When submitting a cancellation, please let us know if you would like your dog walker or pet sitter to still visit your home or skip your visit.

Our in home care Pet Care Professionals arrange their schedule around every visit, and they get discouraged when the income they were planning on is removed from their schedule with short notice. Our in home team members are incredibly dedicated to your pets, and we want them to remain on our team for as long as possible.

Our monthly weekday walk rate applies to all walks that have at least two full weeks per month of walks. If your cancellations bring you down below that two full week threshold, we will shoot you a message and move you to the daily rate. Our dog walkers are happy to come even if you end up working from home that day. We have many clients who work from home and utilize our service to make sure their pups get their daily walk in.

We are adding a $15 fee for any visit request made with less than 24 hours notice. This fee compensates our team members for adjusting their schedule last minute and increases the probability that we can accommodate your last minute pet care needs.

Dog Day School at Arlington Pet Resort

Please make reservations for your Dog Day School visits, so we can plan ahead to ensure we have enough team members to give your pups the best experience possible! We want to make sure our team members have the support they need!

Boarding at Barrington Pet Resort

We haven't changed any policies, but we wanted to make sure we sent a reminder that our peak dates of Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, and Spring Break all have an added $10 fee per boarding night and require a 50% deposit that is fully refundable if you cancel up to 14 days before the start of your reservation. Your deposit saves a suite for your pet just like a hotel room!

We will reach capacity for all three peak breaks, so make your reservations early! You are welcome to adjust your dates once you solidify your travel plans without losing your deposit, so book today to make sure your pup gets to stay in their favorite home away from home!

Bring your pup's Halloween costume for our spooky photo shoot! We will be painting pumpkins and dressing your pups up for a day filled with fun! Each pup gets to take home a healthy Pet Wants treat!

Also, don't forget! Our Treat of the Day is pup cups made with goat whip, himalayan milk chew sprinkles, and a crunchy Pet Wants biscuit on top! Add one to your pup's day for $5!

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to keep our lobby open 24 hours per day due to the movement of play time dogs and the need to give the dogs time to rest. However, we understand that your travel plans aren't always flexible. We offer pre-arranged outside of business hours pick up and drop off for those who really want to keep their dog at home longer or pick up their pet to snuggle in bed after a long trip.

Our outside of hours pick up times are scheduled at a specific time, so we can make sure a member of management is there to meet with you to drop off or pick up your dog. There is an additional fee to cover the manager's time, but we are happy to accommodate your special request when are able to do so.

Levels Training Openings

We have room in our Levels Training program if you would like to brush up on your pup's manners and enjoy a fun outing with your pet each week!

This is a really fun program that provides the flexibility of drop in classes for only $150 per month. By the time you get to Level 3, your pup will be learning Canine Good Citizen test items and be preparing for Therapy Dog Testing!

Illinois Shorthair Rescue's online auction starts tomorrow morning on facebook! They always have some amazing items, and this is their big fundraiser for the year. Snuggle up on your couch and place some bids tomorrow to get some holiday shopping done early! Floyd and all of the German Shorthair Pointers that need new homes will thank you!
