The weekend of May 4-6 was full of celebrations! In Houston, Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Churchcelebrated the XII Annual Polish Festival. This event is organized during the Feast of Saint Virgin Mary the Queen of Poland and commemorates the Polish Constitution of May 3, 1791.
Several thousand guests enjoyed music, live performances, a spectacular silent auction, as well as delicious Polish food and drinks. A variety of activities for the children were offered, too.
Polish folk dance groups from Dallas (Jagoda) and Houston (Wawel, Polish school) performed. A special, new addition to the dance performances was by the newly established Youth Wawel group.
Festival guests also visited the beautiful church and the recently finished Saint John Paul II Plaza, featuring the Houston Polonia Memorial located in front of the Church.
Houston Polonia Memorial completed!
A beautiful project has been finalized; the Saint Pope John Paul II Plaza with Houston Polonia Memorial and Memory Wall. You are invited to visit the Plaza, just in front of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Houston. Photos courtesy of Anna Witas.
