A panel of political, gaming and regulatory experts will discuss the recently past November elections and look ahead to 2025. This unique session will be co-chaired by Delegate Shawn Fluharty of West Virginia, NCLGS President, and Senator Jason Barrett of West Virginia, NCLGS Secretary. Presenters will include:
- Haley Barbour, former Governor of Mississippi
- Jim Kitchens, PhD., The Kitchens Group Public Opinion Research
- Bill Miller, CEO, American Gaming Association
- Dave Rebuck, former Director, New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement
“This group of heavy hitters will provide a lively and interesting discussion for NCLGS attendees,” Fluharty said. “They come from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. The best from political polling to the industry to regulation. We’re especially glad to have Haley Barbour join us. He not only was governor of Mississippi, but he served as White House Political Director under President Reagan and spent four years as chairman of the Republican National Committee in the 1990s. He’s a high-powered lobbyist in Washington, D.C., so he’ll bring an interesting perspective to our conversation. I know our attendees will love the discussion and predictions for 2025.”
NCLGS, founded more than a quarter-century ago, is the only organization of state lawmakers that meets on a regular basis to discuss issues related to gaming. NCLGS neither promotes nor opposes gaming but is focused on proper regulation and promoting best practices in the governance of this important industry.
