Many years ago, I was taught the duty and privilege of voting.

I think it was during the 6th grade.

Grammar School is what that used to be called - grades 1 to 6.

I have no idea what that's called now, just as I have no idea of what's going on within our political system.

It appears to me that there is a lot of name calling, high intensity arguments and varying levels of facts in this system these days.

I don't recall this from previous years in elected representatives responsible to move our nation forward.

I do, however, recall a conversation I had with my father, God rest his soul.

My dad was career military and his term regarding politicians was "a necessary evil."

These days I'm wondering how necessary, why evil and what can be done about it?

Our focus remains on growing companies, building careers and advancing ideas.

We are independent and self-funded, operating entirely without gifts, grants, donations, contributions or the whims and disagreements of tax funding.

Have some opinions? Come share them over breakfast any Wednesday morning.

Successful regard$,

On This Day In History - June  5th
1956
New singing sensation Elvis Presley makes his second appearance on NBC's 'Milton Berle Show,' this time to perform his single ' Hound Dog .' Teenagers swoon, while the older set and most critics are outraged at Presley's indecent gyrations. Future TV gigs will film Elvis from  the waist up.
1963

Teenage showgirls, possible prostitution, and the British War Secretary sharing a lover with a Soviet diplomat are the ingredients in a stew of a scandal forcing the resignation of John Profumo, and ultimately leading to the fall of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan's Conservative government.

1967
Citing an Arab military build-up near its border with Egypt, Israel launches air strikes on Egyptian airfields, destroying upwards of 400 aircraft. The Six-Day War will grow to include Syria and Jordan, and Israel will capture the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, and the Golan Heights.
1968
Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy is shot three times as he departs the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles after giving a victory speech following his California Democratic Primary win. He will die the next day from his wounds, almost five years after his brother John was assassinated

Since 1983!
A not-for-profit cooperative association of independent businesses, founded from an economic development research project on the
importance of small business development conducted by the
Houston Chamber of Commerce in the late 1970's.

With our first Co-Op meeting held March 14, 1983, to date we've worked with 51,47
8 people, generating 44,130 tips, leads, referrals and items of new business, generating revenues exceeding one billion dollars, founded the Entrepreneurial Development Center - Houston's first and Texas' oldest small business incubator and co-working space, First Houston Small Business Seed Capital Fund - literally the first small business seed capital fund in Houston, the Womens Business Center - first business incubator for women business owners in the country with residency space and the Virtual Business Center - the first remote business incubator in the world - all totally without public funding, grants, gifts, donations or contributions.

Further, Co-Op companies have won virtually every award for business growth in Houston, some nationally and some even internationally.

Further, it was our Entrepreneurial Research Division that conclusively demonstrated "entrepreneurship" could be taught in a classroom environment, resulting in colleges and universities, globally, commencing entrepreneurial classes and courses.
