Pondering God's Unlimited Resources …

As I step into the new year, I like to look back and reflect, remember and rejoice in the year gone by. 2024 presented its share of joys, challenges, disappointments, victories and blessings too numerous to count! There were many little miracles along the way, but this Christmas I witnessed a miracle for the records

that will long be remembered in our family.

I call it the “Miracle of God’s Unlimited Resources”… the Gift of Shoes!

I am always striving to keep Christmas simple. Gift giving is always a challenge as no one really “needs” anything. This year I thought I had the perfect idea ~ the “Gift of Shoes”. Doesn’t every teenager want a new pair of Birkenstocks, athletic shoes or trendy boots? My idea was to give them a fun experience shopping together while finding just the right pair of shoes.

Unfortunately the “Gift of Shoes” did not turn out as I had envisioned … instead there were 4 disappointed faces, no Uggs in stock, no cool shoes, nothing they wanted! BUT FOR GOD, that is. “No UGGs in stock, they have been gone for weeks!” said the clerk. “Nope, there is nothing here that I want, Grandma”, said my granddaughter. Now what? As excitement drained from their faces, I breathed a short prayer, “PLEASE God, now what?”. There are no words to describe how I felt about this Christmas disaster! BUT FOR GOD, that is…

As I paid for my son’s birthday present and a pair of boots for me, the Manager at the checkout said “What else can I help you with?” To which I replied, “Well, my granddaughters from Chicago all wanted a pair of UGGs, and there are none in stock”. “UGGs? … I might have some “stash” in the back room – just a moment!” To our amazement in the backroom there are stashed 2 pairs of UGGs, size 7, perfect for Ruby and Lucy. But how about Kacie? “That will be harder to find … let me do some checking.” Another check in the backroom, clicks on the computer

and a few phone calls later and the Manager again went to the backroom. He returned with a big smile and a pair of size 8 UGGs, perfect for Kacie!

We all agreed that this was a true Christmas Miracle! I cannot even describe the joy. Thank you, God for moving mountains and providing UGGs … help us to remember that nothing is too hard for You … You have unlimited resources! As we step into 2025, in the ups and downs of life, may we not give up trusting and living open to miracles along the way.
