Spring Yard Projects
It's finally warm enough outside to get some spring yard work done! Not sure what to do with spring leaves, brush, and yard waste? Curious about tree planting? Interested in gardening but don't have room in your yard? Read on for more information!

SPRING LEAF COLLECTION: The City of Pontiac has begun picking up leaf and brush and will continue through May 3 rd . Visit the Curbside Collection page on our website for more details. Grass stickers are available at Pontiac City Hall for $1 each. These stickers can be attached to bags of grass only which will then will be picked up by the City of Pontiac. 

SPRING TREES: City of Pontiac residences interested in having a tree planted in their front parkway should contact Chris Brock by email or by calling 815-844-5025. 

COMMUNITY GARDEN: 10’ x 20” garden plots on the corner of Oak and Cleary Streets are currently open for registration. Forms for registration can be located on the city website or by emailing Chris Brock.
Reminders about Republic Garbage Services
Helpful Hints:
  • Please place your carts at least three feet away from any obstacles (cars, trees, fire hydrants, etc.)
  • Never park in front of your carts
  • Always place your carts out for pick up by 6:00AM on your service day.
Your New Service Includes the Following:
  • One Republic Services TRASH cart
  • One Republic Services RECYCLING cart
  • Recycling will be serviced every other week
  • Contaminated recycle will not be serviced
  • Personal containers will not be serviced
  • Recycling carts can not be exchanged for trash carts
  • Additional Republic Services carts can be rented for $3.25 per month by calling 815-723-3200
  • Any additional cans that are no longer needed can be removed by calling the City of Pontiac at 815-844-3396
