Pedestrian Safety
As temperatures warm up, more people are going to be out and about on city sidewalks. Whether walking for leisure or just to get from one place to another, we want to ensure everyone's safety on our roads. To that end:
Vehicle Operators:
  • Pedestrians have the right-of-way
  • Do not cross or enter crosswalk lines when a pedestrian is present
  • Do not block crosswalks at stops
  • Do not park across sidewalks
  • Be mindful of pedestrians at unmarked corners
Pedestrians:
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • When possible stay on sidewalks and off the road
  • Cross in marked crosswalks
  • When at a stoplight controlled intersection, cross with the light
